CRACKLE ANNOUNCES "IN THE CLOUD" VR EXPERIENCE TO RELEASE AHEAD OF FEATURE ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST

Immersive Experience Stars Castmembers Nora Arnezeder, Justin Chatwin and Tomiwa Edun

Pasadena, CA, January 14, 2018 - Crackle, Sony Pictures Television Networks' free, ad-supported streaming network, today announced that it will launch a new, immersive virtual reality experience allowing users to become a part of the In the Cloud universe on Samsung Gear VR Powered by Oculus for free beginning Thursday, February 1st. The VR experience will launch on additional interactive platforms soon and is also available online in 360-degree video. In the Cloud, Crackle's next original feature, is scheduled to release on Thursday, February 8th.

In the Cloud VR Afterlife follows Theo James (Tomiwa Edun), a brooding genius with a checkered past, welcomes the VR user and speaks about technology which allows him to map the human brain. After introducing the Cloud, he starts interacting with the VR participant asking various questions about morality. With every answer, a slim crack widens encompassing a visually stimulating journey to the other side to reveal your inner truth that may or may not be what it seems. The VR experience, which also features the characters portrayed by Nora Arnezeder and Justin Chatwin, is a spectacular and mystical ride built with live-action actors, visually stunning special effects and 360-sound.

"The virtual reality experience reinforces our commitment to delivering interactive opportunities to our audience," said Eric Berger, CDO at Sony Pictures Television Networks and GM of Crackle. "Giving users this truly experiential, innovative experience allows them to change the way that they engage in our content and immerse themselves in the 'In the Cloud' universe."

In the Cloud takes place in the near future after dozens of people are killed in attacks by a serial terrorist bomber. An exploration of the inevitable evolution of Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence, and the dramatic implications when it is used by those with questionable interests, In the Cloud tells the story of two estranged tech geniuses. Brought together by the mysterious death of their mentor, they overcome their differences to create a perfect cutting-edge technology with the goal of invading the terrorist's memories using a VR environment to pinpoint the remaining bombs and prevent countless more casualties. But hiding in the shadows are those with secret agendas who seek to utilize the "memory cloud" to create and control what can only be described as a digital afterlife. In their race to thwart the attacks, our heroes will inadvertently create an AI so powerful it may change the very meaning of life and death for the future of humanity.
