NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC ANNOUNCES RETURN OF EMMY-NOMINATED SERIES "BRAIN GAMES" AS TWO-HOUR LIVE EVENT, PREMIERING FALL 2018

Network Also Greenlights Yellowstone Live, a Four-Night, Edge-of-Your-Seat Live View of the USA's Iconic Wilderness From the Award-Winning Production Team Behind Last Summer's Groundbreaking Earth Live

(WASHINGTON, D.C. / NEW YORK - APRIL 18, 2018) Taking live events even further, National Geographic announced today the return of Emmy-nominated series BRAIN GAMES reimagined as a two-hour, live event, BRAIN GAMES LIVE. Additionally, following the success of last summer's global television event EARTH LIVE, the network also announced today the greenlight of YELLOWSTONE LIVE, a four-night global event premiering this summer that brings viewers into the heart of the United States' most epic and wild landscape: Yellowstone National Park.

"At National Geographic, we aim to push boundaries, ignite curiosity and tell incredible stories in ways that have never been done before," said Tim Pastore, president, original programming and production, National Geographic. "Smart and genre-busting shows like BRAIN GAMES and EARTH LIVE have further cemented National Geographic as a destination for innovative and interactive storytelling, and BRAIN GAMES LIVE and YELLOWSTONE LIVE continue our efforts to give viewers new ways of looking at our amazing world."

Get ready to explore the amazing human brain with the return of Emmy-nominated hit show BRAIN GAMES in a new, live two-hour event full of mind-bending games, surprising revelations and new interactive feats that demonstrate just how easy it is to fool the human brain, and why things aren't always as they seem. Over the course of two hours, viewers will participate in real-time, interactive games designed to mess with the mind and reveal the surprising inner workings of the brain.

BRAIN GAMES LIVE will journey through the incredible science of what makes our brains tick, with visually provocative experiences, capturing the attention of a live audience and leaving viewers at home holding their breath. Don't blink or you'll miss it!

Produced by the same team that brought you last summer's unprecedented two-hour event EARTH LIVE comes YELLOWSTONE LIVE, a four-day live event that showcases the best of Yellowstone National Park's wildlife in real time and in spectacular fashion. Over the course of four days, viewers will witness the earth's greatest wildlife, shot by world-renowned cinematographers using cutting-edge technology. With up to 22 million acres, Yellowstone is a hotspot for volcanic activity with more than 300 animal species, dramatic canyons, lush forests, hot springs, gushing geysers and alpine rivers.

National Geographic will tap into Yellowstone's community of people who know the area and their wild neighbors better than anyone else, from mountain search and rescue teams, avalanche control experts and geyser cleaners to geologists and bush pilots. Where forest fires and avalanches are common and predatory animals roam freely, our team of experts will rove around rough and ready, in the thick of the unpredictable action, to report LIVE on site from up in the air and on the ground. Our mobile teams will cover the length and breadth of Yellowstone with cineflex technology, helicopters and remote cameras.

BRAIN GAMES LIVE is produced by National Geographic Studios. For National Geographic Studios, executive producers are Jeff Hasler and Brian Lovett. For National Geographic, executive producer is Matt Renner and president of original programming and production is Tim Pastore.

YELLOWSTONE LIVE is produced by Plimsoll Productions, Berman Productions and Bunim-Murray Productions for National Geographic. Grant Mansfield, Andrew Jackson, James Smith, Martha Holmes, Al Berman and Gil Goldschein are executive producers. For National Geographic, Kevin Mohs is vice president, production and development and Tim Pastore is president of original programming and production.
