GAME OF THRONES (HBO) - The pay channel has greenlit a pilot for one of the franchise's five proposed spin-off series. Said installment, a prequel from George R.R. Martin and writer Jane Goldman, is described as chronicling "the world's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros' history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend... it's not the story we think we know." Vince Gerardis and Daniel Zelman will also serve as executive producers. Additional potential spin-offs are being spearheaded by Max Borenstein, Brian Helgeland, Carly Wray and Bryan Cogman. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED ANNA DELVEY PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - Shonda Rhimes and her Shondaland banner are developing Jessica Pressler's New York Magazine article "How Anna Delvey Tricked New York's Party People" as a potential drama series. Rhimes herself will pen the hour, her first as part of the company's new overall deal with Netflix, with Betsy Beers also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
