DOOM PATROL (DC) - Diane Guerrero has joined the cast of the DC Universe series as Crazy Jane, "an unlikely hero suffering from the world's most severe case of multiple personality disorder. Each of her 64 distinct personas manifest a different super power making Jane the Doom Patrol's most powerful member... and also its most unstable." (Deadline.com)
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER (ABC) - Timothy Hutton has joined the cast of the show's fifth season in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Deadline.com)
ROBBIE (Comedy Central) - Beau Bridges has signed onto the Rory Scovel-led comedy pilot, about an overzealous church-league basketball coach who aspires to restore glory to his rural Georgia town by following in his father's footsteps as the infamous coach who won two high school basketball championships in the nineties. He'll play Robbie's father, Robbie Walton Sr., who is "beloved by everyone in town because he led the local high school to two state championships in his day, he does not suffer fools - especially his son, Robbie." SNEAKY PETE (Amazon) - Blake Masters has been tapped as the new showrunner for the show's expected third season. He'll succeed Graham Yost, Fred Golan and Michael Dinner, who are all exiting. (Deadline.com, 7/28)
UNTITLED 24 PROJECT (FOX) - The latest incarnation of the "24" franchise will reportedly serve as a prequel to the original series and "trace the origin story of CTU agent Jack Bauer." Howard Gordon, Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran are penning the script for 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED KID FURY PROJECT (HBO, New!) - Comedian Kid Fury is spearheading a new comedy series at the pay channel described as "a surreal dark comedy that follows Greg, a 20-something sarcastic gay black man navigating adulthood and responsibility in New York City while struggling to wrap his head around his undiagnosed clinical depression." Lena Waithe and Avalon Television's Chloe Pisello, David Martin, Jon Thoday and Richard Allen-Turner are the executive producers with Kid Fury and Jason Kim as co-executive producers. (Variety.com)
WOOL (AMC, New!) - Hugh Howey's book series - "a post-apocalyptic story that follows a sheriff, his wife, and their larger society forced underground due to toxic air on the surface of the planet" - is being developed as a TV series at the cable channel. LaToya Morgan is penning the script for AMC Studios with Howey serving as a producer. (Variety.com)
