AMAZON STUDIOS INKS PRODUCTION DEAL WITH BLUMHOUSE TELEVISION FOR A SERIES OF EIGHT THEMATICALLY CONNECTED FILMS
The Series of Feature Length Programs Will be Direct to Amazon Prime Video, Marking First Such Deal for its Global Audience
All Titles Will be From Diverse Filmmakers
Amazon Studios has closed an exclusive production deal with Jason Blum's indie studio Blumhouse Television for a series of eight elevated thriller/darkly-themed feature length productions that will be released direct-to-service on Amazon Prime Video, which reaches over 200 territories worldwide. Amazon Studios and Blumhouse Television are committed to attaching diverse and underrepresented filmmakers to direct and bring these titles to life.

This marks Amazon Studios' first ever global direct-to-service deal for feature length programs. The deal will allow the studio to broaden and reach new audiences around the world seeking out cutting-edge, elevated genre movies and fresh content on Prime Video. Amazon recently closed exclusive first-look deals with Nicole Kidman's Blossom Films, director Reed Morano, and Oscar winner Jordan Peele.
Amazon Studios continues to produce and distribute theatrical movies. Up next is Pawel Pawlikowski's Cold War, the official Polish entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, which opens exclusively in theaters December 21. Currently in theaters are Luca Guadagnino's?Suspiria starring Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson, and Felix van Groeningen's Beautiful Boy starring Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet.
