FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL (Hulu) - Nathalie Emmanuel, Brandon Mychal Smith, Zoe Boyle, Jennie Jacques, Harish Patel and Guz Khan have all been cast in the streaming service's small screen incarnation of the 1994 film. Additionally, Andie MacDowell, who co-starred in the feature, will drop by as Mrs. Howard, Ainsley's (Rebecca Rittenhouse) mother. Emmanuel then will play Maya, replacing the originally cast Jessica Williams's Jess, with Smith as Craig, Boyle as Gemma, Jacques as Zara, Patel as Haroon, and Khan as Basheer. No other specifics were given. (Deadline.com)
GREAT, THE (Hulu) - Sacha Dhawan and Charity Wakefield have both been cast in the Elle Fanning/Nicholas Hoult-led drama pilot, which "charts the rise to power of Catherine the Great (Fanning) and her explosive relationship with husband Peter (Hoult), the emperor of Russia." No details were given about their characters. Production is underway in the United Kingdom. (Deadline.com)
MURDER MOUNTAIN (Netflix, New!) - Lightbox has set up a true crime docu-series at the streaming service about 29-year-old Garret Rodriguez, "who went missing in 2013. His disappearance, and the events surrounding the investigation into his whereabouts, expose a wild, lawless place, and forever changes the local community. Murder Mountain provides viewers with an exclusive look at Humboldt's marijuana farms, both legal and illegal and the farmers and dealers associated with the industry, and how legalization of marijuana cultivation and consumption has presented an existential threat to those who have lived happily outside the law for decades." Jonathan Chinn and Simon Chinn are executive producing the six-part series, due on December 28. Stephen Neely and Matt Testa are co-executive producers while Joshua Zeman directs. (Deadline.com)
TAKE TWO (ABC) - The network has passed on a second season for the Rachel Bilson/Eddie Cibrian-led summer drama. Co-producers Tandem Productions, StudioCanal and ABC Studios are mulling to sell the series elsewhere. (THR.com)
UNTITLED MIDDLE SPIN-OFF PROJECT (ABC) - The Alphabet has passed on the Eden Sher-led spin-off series, which would have followed Sue Heck as she leaves college and her hometown of Orson, Indiana, for the ups and downs of a career and young adulthood in Chicago. Also cast were Chris Diamantopoulos, Brock Ciarlelli, Kimberley Crossman, Finesse Mitchell and Aaron Branch. Producer Warner Bros. Television may shop the project elsewhere. (Deadline.com)
