Ovation Sets Premiere Dates for "Murdoch Mysteries" and "Frankie Drake Mysteries"
Formerly known as "The Artful Detective" on Ovation, the arts network will now air the mystery series under its original, international title "Murdoch Mysteries."

OVATION CELEBRATES THE ART OF MYSTERY WITH THE RETURN OF MURDOCH MYSTERIES AND THE PREMIERE OF FRANKIE DRAKE MYSTERIES IN Q2 2019

The Arts Network Will Air The Twelfth Season of Fan-Favorite Murdoch in April and the First Season of Frankie Drake in June

Los Angeles, CA - January 7, 2018 - Continuing the tradition of airing premium content on Saturday nights, Ovation will premiere the twelfth season of its perennial fan-favorite Murdoch Mysteries and the first season of newcomer Frankie Drake Mysteries in Q2 2019. Formerly known as The Artful Detective on Ovation, the arts network will now air the mystery series under its original, international title. Season 12 of Murdoch Mysteries will premiere back-to-back episodes on Ovation on Saturday, April 20 at 7pm ET / 4pm PT. Season One of Frankie Drake Mysteries will premiere on Ovation on Saturday, June 15 at 9pm ET / 6pm ET, immediately following the season 12 finale of Murdoch Mysteries. Frankie Drake Mysteries will then air back-to-back episodes in its regular time slot of 7pm ET / 4pm PT starting on Saturday, June 22.

Set in Toronto at the dawn of the 20th century, Murdoch Mysteries is a one-hour drama series that explores the intriguing world of William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson), a methodical and dashing detective who pioneers innovative forensic techniques to solve some of the city's most gruesome murders. As season twelve of the top-rated, internationally acclaimed series begins, Detective Murdoch (Bisson) and his wife, Dr. Julia Ogden (Hèléne Joy), have reconciled after a miscarriage and built their dream home - designed by renowned modernist architect Frank Lloyd Wright (Aaron Poole).

Frankie Drake Mysteries is set in stylish 1920s Toronto and follows the female-only agency Drake Private Detectives, led by the eponymous Frankie Drake (Lauren Lee Smith) and her partner Trudy Clarke (Chantel Riley). Incorporating a brand of justice that doesn't always follow the law, Frankie and Trudy investigate mysteries and crimes that either the police refuse to take on, or that their clients cannot take to the police at all.
