LOS ANGELES -- January 9, 2019 -- YouTube revealed the full list of guest stars for WEIRD CITY, a half-hour sci-fi comedy co-created by Academy Award and Emmy Award winning writer Jordan Peele and Emmy Award nominated writer Charlie Sanders (Key and Peele). The six-episode series will debut exclusively on YouTube Premium on February 13, 2019.
The all-star list of special appearances includes Sara Gilbert (The Conners, The Talk), Dylan O'Brien (Maze Runner Franchise, Teen Wolf), Ed O'Neill (Modern Family), Rosario Dawson (Luke Cage), Michael Cera (Arrested Development, Superbad), Laverne Cox (Orange Is The New Black), and LeVar Burton (Star Trek) along with Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians, Ocean's Eight), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), Auli'i Cravalho (Moana), Trevor Jackson (Grown-ish, Superfly), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead, Sorry To Bother You), Eugene Cordero (Kong: Skull Island), Gillian Jacobs (Community, Love), Hannah Simone (New Girl), Malcolm Barrett (Timeless, Preacher) and Mark Hamill (Star Wars).
WEIRD CITY is an anthology set in the not-too-distant future metropolis of Weird. Told through the prism of sci-fi and comedy, each episode is an exploration of issues that pertain to present day life. Emmy winner Adam Bernstein (Fargo, Scrubs, 30 Rock), directed the first two episodes. Amy Heckerling (Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Clueless), and Tricia Brock (The Walking Dead, 30 Rock) each directed two episodes.
WEIRD CITY is written by Jordan Peele (Get Out, Key & Peele, The Last O.G.) and Charlie Sanders (Key & Peele), and produced by Monkeypaw Productions, Sonar Entertainment, Mosaic and Raskal Productions. Jose Molina (The Tick, Marvel's Agent Carter, Sleepy Hollow) serves as showrunner and executive producer. Peele, Sanders and Bernstein serve as executive producers along with Win Rosenfeld through Monkeypaw, Tom Lesinski and Jenna Santoianni through Sonar Entertainment, Sam Hansen and Jimmy Miller through Mosaic and Keith Raskin and Linda Morel through Raskal Productions.
