NETFLIX ANNOUNCES FIVE NEW SPANISH ORIGINAL SERIES
The five new productions offer a variety of stories all unique in their own genre
Madrid, Spain - February 6th -- Netflix, the world's leading internet entertainment service, continues its investment in Spanish content. Francisco Ramos, Vice President Original Series, announced the development and production of five new Spanish projects launching on Netflix from 2020. All titles will be available in over 190 countries for the 139 million subscribers Netflix has around the world.
The five new shows cover a variety of genres and formats that will offer consumers a diverse and exciting choice of content, including, a down-to-earth superhero comedy in El vecino, a extraordinary gripping drama in El desorden que dejas, a superbly casted female mini-series in Días de Navidad, an anime adaptation of the best-selling novel in Memorias de Idhun, and a beautifully written female dramedy in Valeria.
"At Netflix, we want to produce local stories with a global appeal and Spain has constantly generated amazing television both for Spain and the world. This new crop of projects, all different from each other and with very strong and top of the class story-tellers, will create narratives that will resonate with viewers everywhere" explained Francisco Ramos.
In addition to all of these new productions that are currently in different development stages, Netflix is also in production on the new seasons for Las chicas del cable, Elite and La casa de papel, and the new shows Hache, Alta Mar and Criminal, which adds further diversity to the slate having all German, English, French and Spanish episodes shot at the production hub in Madrid. In regards to cinema, family animated movie Klaus from Sergio Pablos is currently being produced at SPA studios in Madrid, and movies such Diecisiete and Hogar are now in postproducción getting ready for a 2019 and 2020 launch.

El Vecino
Javier's life is not going well. He can barely make end of month with a temporary job, his t-shirt business with discouraging quotes doesn't quite take off and his relationship with Lola has been having problems in the last couple of months. The last thing he needed is for an alien to land on him and transfer his powers before dying. Now Javier is a superhero, but he's not doing any better. Turns out that the super powers are useless when you get fired from your job or when your girlfriend decides she wants to take a break. Fortunately he has his friend José Ramón, his neighbor, that will teach him to use his powers for good and hide his secret identity, specially from Lola who has decided to turn her mediocre journalism career and investigate Titan, the mysterious superhero.

Días de Navidad showcases the Christmas celebration of four sisters in their family home through three different time periods, which are also three key moments in their lives: adolescence, adulthood and old age. Family dynamics, secrets and personal confrontations will be seen from different perspectives through the lens of time.

Memorias de Idhún
The day that the astral conjunction of three suns and moons happened in Idhun, Ashran the Necromancer gathered all the power and begun the kingdom of terror of the winged snakes. The battle for Idhun's freedom is fought in earth, where Jack and Victoria fight to stop Kirtash, the assassin sent by Ashran to get rid of the people from Idhun that ran from his tyranny. Nonetheless, the heroes of the story still don't know the design of a prophecy that will intertwine their fates in a love and hate plot that will generate death duels and will create unheard of alliances.
