TOP TALENT SCORE NEW PROGRAMMING OPPORTUNITIES ON HGTV
Popular Network Also Bolsters Roster with More Experts
New York [Feb. 12, 2019] HGTV stars Christina Anstead (Christina on the Coast), Alison Victoria (Windy City Rehab), and David Bromstad (My Lottery Dream Home) were joined on stage by the network's newest home renovation expert, New Kids on the Block singer Jonathan Knight (Farmhouse Fixer - a pilot), for a panel discussion about identifying and seizing new on-camera career opportunities. The group appeared today during the Television Critics Association (TCA) tour at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena hotel.
HGTV, which transformed home improvement television with its winning combination of charismatic real estate/renovation experts and homeowners with relatable property challenges, is a pop culture phenomenon that draws more than 40 million viewers per month and boasts 13.8 million fans across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
"From the Property Brothers, Jonathan and Drew, to Flip or Flop's Christina and Tarek, we've mastered the art of building stars," said Allison Page, president, HGTV. "And when these stars resonate for our audience, we embrace the opportunity to build new hits with them."
Christina Anstead, who started out on Flip or Flop as a nearly broke house flipper with now ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, will star in her own series, Christina on the Coast, for HGTV this summer. The series showcases Christina as she expands her design business in Southern California, turning her clients' outdated properties into high-end showplaces.
Alison Victoria is loved by DIY Network fans from her days hosting Kitchen Crashers, but now she's on the HGTV stage with Windy City Rehab, where she takes major risks on large scale Chicago home renovations. Alison uses her sharp business savvy and knowledge of the local market to transform city fixer-uppers that will appeal to high-end buyers.
The original winner of HGTV Design Star, David Bromstad starred in 11 seasons of Color Splash before hosting HGTV's hit My Lottery Dream Home. Each episode follows David as he travels the country to help lucky lottery winners find and buy their first high-dollar house.
HGTV also celebrates home experts well known from other fields. Jonathan Knight spent years performing with New Kids on the Block around the world, but once he settled back home in New England, he dove into his passion for home renovation. He's now an expert renovator whose talents will be showcased in a new HGTV pilot, Farmhouse Fixer.
This spring, HGTV will welcome renovator and designer Grace Mitchell in the new series One of a Kind. Premiering on Tuesday, March 19, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, the series features Grace as she strives to create spaces that reflect her clients' family stories. In one episode, she creates a starry ceiling design that is a replica of a couple's first date under the night sky.
"Cultivating and growing home renovation stars is a big part of HGTV's success," said Page. "We are passionate about bringing experts with a unique point of view on renovation and design to our audience."
