SHOWTIME ORDERS A SECOND SEASON OF "CITY ON A HILL"

Starring Kevin Bacon And Aldis Hodge, One-Hour Drama Currently Airs Sundays At 9 PM ET/PT

LOS ANGELES - August 02, 2019 - Today, SHOWTIME announced that it has picked up a second season of its acclaimed drama CITY ON A HILL. Starring Golden Globe(R) winner and Emmy(R) nominee Kevin Bacon (The Following) and Screen Actors Guild(R) award winner Aldis Hodge (Underground), the one-hour drama currently airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, and will have its season one finale on Sunday, August, 18. CITY ON A HILL is averaging 3.5 million viewers per week across platforms. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine and Jana Winograde, Presidents of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc., at the Television Critics Association's Summer Press Tour.

"CITY ON A HILL is that addictive kind of meaty and messy show we love at SHOWTIME," said Levine. "With the inspired pairing of Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge and the inspired writing of Tom Fontana and Chuck MacLean, we believe there is a rich future for this compelling series."

City On A Hill is created and executive produced by Chuck MacLean (Boston Strangler), with multiple Emmy winner Tom Fontana (Homicide: Life on the Street) serving as showrunner and executive producer. The series is set in early 1990s Boston, rife with criminals emboldened by local law enforcement agencies in which corruption and racism was the norm. In this fictional account, assistant district attorney Decourcy Ward (Hodge) arrives from Brooklyn and forms an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran, Jackie Rohr (Bacon). Together, they take on a family of armored car robbers from Charlestown in a case that grows to involve, and ultimately subvert, the entire criminal justice system of Boston. Produced by SHOWTIME, season one of CITY ON A HILL stars Jonathan Tucker (Kingdom), Mark O'Brien (Halt and Catch Fire), Jill Hennessy (Crossing Jordan), Lauren E. Banks (Instinct), Amanda Clayton (Tyler Perry's If Loving You Is Wrong), Kevin Chapman (BROTHERHOOD), Tony(R) Award nominee Jere Shea (Passion) and guest star Sarah Shahi (Fairly Legal).

Along with MacLean and Tom Fontana, CITY ON A HILL is executive produced by Jennifer Todd, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Michael Cuesta, Barry Levinson and consulting producer James Mangold. Kevin Bacon and Jorge Zamacona serve as co-executive producers.

SHOWTIME is currently available to subscribers via cable, DBS, and telco providers, and as a stand-alone streaming service through Amazon, Apple(R), Google, LG Smart TVs, Oculus Go, Roku(R), Samsung Smart TVs and Xbox One. Consumers can also subscribe to SHOWTIME via Amazon's Prime Video Channels, Apple TV Channels, DirecTV Now, FuboTV, Hulu, The Roku Channel, Sling TV, Sony PlayStation(TM) Vue, and YouTube TV or directly at www.showtime.com.
