CAROL'S SECOND ACT (CBS) - Cedric Yarbrough, who recurs as Nurse Dennis on the newcomer, has been promoted to series regular. (Deadline.com)
DUNE: THE SISTERHOOD (HBO Max) - Jon Spaihts is stepping down as showrunner on the TV offshoot of the forthcoming feature film. He'll however remain an executive producer while the search is underway for a replacement. (THR.com)
HOME (NBC, New!) - Jorge Reyes has set up a potential drama at the Peacock about "the Candelarias, a wealthy Puerto Rican family from Buffalo whose lives are upended when the patriarch dies leaving controlling ownership of his empire unexpectedly to his daughter. In one day, she becomes one of the most powerful women in the country and will have to navigate the male-dominated worlds of pro football and real estate, making decisions that could ruin the legacy her father built while trying to keep her family united." CBS Television Studios is behind the hour with Propagate's Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens presumably also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
NCIS: NEW ORLEANS (CBS) - Co-star Lucas Black, who plays Special Agent Christopher Lasalle, has confirmed his exit from the series after six seasons. (@lucas_york_black)
NEAR DEATH (CBS, New!) - Jennifer Johnson has sold a potential drama to the Eye in which "following a horrible accident, a young woman's near-death experience leads to inexplicable visions that prove surprisingly useful in helping her detective father solve crimes, and may also reveal dark secrets that threaten to permanently fracture their family." Glenn Geller and DeVon Franklin will also executive produce for CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
ST. BERNIE'S (CBS, New!) - Michael Rauch has set up a new drama at the Eye about "an idealistic but immature doctor, who, when a small town's hospital is forced to close, leads a determined group of locals who co-opt a diner-turned-veterinarian clinic into a medical practice to deliver much-needed care to their community." Glenn Geller will likewise executive produce for CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
SWAT (CBS) - Rochelle Aytes is bound for the current season in the recurring role of Nichelle, "a woman who was born and raised in an upper middle-class neighborhood in Baldwin Hills, but developed a desire to give back and help those with fewer resources. As such, she now runs a neighborhood community center in South L.A." (TVLine.com)
TODAY'S SPECIAL (WarnerMedia, New!) - David Wain and A.D. Miles are set to team for a potential daily series "that blends the story-telling mechanics of a daily soap opera, the tone and style of a single camera sitcom, and the topical responsiveness of late night television. It takes place in a 24-hour diner which serves as a hub for a diverse group of characters. The lives of the staff and regulars intertwine in ongoing storylines while also reacting to trending topics and the day's headlines." Jax Media is behind the project, which has a four-episode pilot order for consideration at a yet-to-be-determined outlet at the company. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED CARA DELEVINGNE PROJECT (Quibi, New!) - Cara Delevingne is set to host and executive produce an all-female practical joke series on the streaming service. In the project, from Sirens Media, "Delevingne and a band of female accomplices will wreak havoc, executing a new stunt or practical joke - ranging from the ridiculous to the extreme - often putting themselves in unwieldy and unpredictable situations in the process." Jessica Sebastian will also serve as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MELISSA SCRIVNER-LOVE PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Melissa Scrivner-Love has sold a new drama to the Eye. No specifics were given about the project other than it is set at CBS Television Studios with Propagate's Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens presumably also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
ZORRO (NBC, New!) - Alfredo Barrios, Jr. has sold a modern-day retelling of the Zorro mythology to the Peacock "that follows Z, a female descendant of the warrior bloodline who will go to great lengths to protect the defenseless in her community." The drama comes from CBS Television Studios with Propagate's Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens presumably also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
