DANSON, FEY & CARLOCK SERIES (NBC) - Vella Lovell has joined the cast of the Ted Danson-led comedy as Mikaela, "a fiercely ambitious politician-in-the-making moved up from the mayor's campaign manager to his interim chief of staff." (Deadline.com)
EXPANSE, THE (Amazon) - Keon Alexander's Marco Inaros, Nadine Nicole's Clarissa Mao and Jasai Chase Owens's Felip have been promoted to regulars on the series' fifth season. In addition, Lily Gao will return as Nancy Gao on a recurring basis. (THR.com)
FLORIDA MAN (Quibi, New!) - Chris Romano and Drew Hancock are set to team for an anthology comedy series at the streaming service which "rips real headlines from insane stories, and tells us the made up tale of how they came to be." Ace Entertainment's Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman are executive producing alongside Jake Szymanski, Dylan Trussell and David Dinetz with Hancock, Romano and Paul Kim serving as co-executive producers. JUST ONE DRINK (Quibi, New!) - Nick Hornby and Laura Dern are set to team for a new series on the mobile platform "which will be a series of one-act vignettes between a bartender and the customers she serves, all of whom are in various states of emotional disrepair." Jayme Lemons of Jaywalker Pictures and Elisa Ellis of Platform One Media will also executive produce the series alongside the duo. (Deadline.com)
LIARS CLUB (TNT, New!) - Amy Rutberg has sold a potential drama to the cable channel about "a woman with a unique skill set and a dark history leading two very different lives - one adorned in the trappings of Connecticut country clubs and house parties, the other drenched in the murk of the underground New York gambling circuit." The project is set up at CBS Television Studios with Christopher Silber and Touchy Feely Films' Paul Giamatti and Dan Carey executive producing and Rutberg as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
POSE (FX) - Co-creator Steven Canals has signed an overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television, the studio behind the series. (Deadline.com)
PROSPECT (ABC, New!) - Writers Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer and director Randall Einhorn have scored a pilot order from the Alphabet for a new single-camera comedy in which "an idealistic young woman moves to the frontier to be a schoolteacher, but her ideals quickly are tested when she learns that her students are rowdy ranch hands, not children." ABC Studios is behind the project, home to Einhorn's Sad Unicorn banner. (Deadline.com)
SHOP CLASS (Disney+) - Justin Long has been tapped to host the competition series for the streaming service. Hangar 56's John Stevens and Spike Feresten are executive producing alongside Long, Richard Rawlings, Ruth Amsel and Charles Steenveld. The series bows on Friday, February 28. (THR.com)
SWAMP THING (DC Universe) - Executive producer Gary Dauberman has signed a first-look deal with Universal Content Productions. The pact gives the company first crack at his TV banner Coin Operated's output. (Deadline.com)
ULTRA VIOLET & BLUE DEMON (Disney Channel, New!) - The network has given a cast-contingent pilot order to a new comedy starring and executive produced by Mexican luchador and professional wrestler Blue Demon, Jr. The project centers on 13-year-old Violet, "who is stunned when a magical luchador mask "chooses" her to be the successor to her uncle, the famed luchador Blue Demon Jr. who is actually a secret superhero. Violet will now begin her own secret superhero training, all while having to navigate the universal ups and downs of coming-of-age while keeping her new alter-ego a secret." Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit are behind the half-hour with Dan Carrillo Levy, Eugenio Villamar and Jorge Castro co-executive producing and Alejandro Damiani directing. (Deadline.com)

WALKING DEAD, THE: WORLD BEYOND (AMC) - AMC president Sarah Barnett told reporters at the TCA Winter Press Tour the spin-off project, which rolls out on Sunday, April 12, "is a two-season closed-ended series that will tell a very specific and distinct story." (TVLine.com)
