ALMOST FAMILY (FOX) - As expected, the network has formally pulled the plug on the freshman drama after one season. (Deadline.com)
B POSITIVE (CBS) - Kether Donahue and Sara Rue are the latest additions to the multi-camera comedy pilot. Donohue will play Leanne, "a party girl who can still keep up with the 20-somethings but now pays for it the next day"; while Rue is Julia, "ambitious and a social climber, Julia is a local real estate agent who believes she deserves to live in the fabulous homes she tries to sell." BIG SKY, THE (ABC) - Brian Geraghty is the latest bound for the upcoming drama as Ronald Pergman, "a blue-collar long-haul trucker with a disturbing dark side who becomes the subject of an investigation." (Deadline.com)
BRIDES, THE (ABC) - Gina Torres is the first to be cast in the drama pilot as Cleo Phillips: "One of the three Brides of Dracula and the leader of this vampire trio, Cleo is an imperious woman with a queenly manner - understandably, as she was a queen in her former life, who was turned by Dracula after the death of her husband. Now a maven of New York City real estate, Cleo is challenged professionally by a mysterious newcomer - even as her ties to her sisters are dangerously fraying." (Deadline.com)
DR. DEATH (Peacock) - Grace Gummer and Molly Griggs have both been cast in the limited series, based on Wondery's hit podcast of the same name. Gummer will play Kim Morgan, "a highly capable, hard-charging registered nurse who is drawn into Duntsch's (Jamie Dornan) web - both professionally and personally - by his apparent talent and ambition." Griggs then is Wendy Young, "Duntsch's girlfriend, the mother of his children and the last remaining moral beacon for the man who would become "Dr. Death."" (Deadline.com)
ECHO (NBC) - Reid Scott will star opposite Janina Gavankar in the drama pilot as David, "a member of the FBI who volunteers for the most dangerous undercover assignments." (Deadline.com)
GOOD SAM (CBS) - Jason Isaacs is bound for the Sophia Bush-led drama pilot as Paul "Griff" Griffith, "the brilliant, arrogant, unrivaled Chief of Cardiothoracic surgery, a wizard with a scalpel. He's notoriously hard on his residents - none more than his equally gifted daughter, Sam (Bush). But when he suddenly awakens from a months-long coma, he learns that Sam has become the new Chief of Surgery. The only way to resume his job is as her subordinate, an arrangement which, for him, proves harder than heart surgery." (Deadline.com)
GOSSIP GIRL (HBO Max) - Emily Alyn Lind, Whitney Peak, Eli Brown, Johnathan Fernandez and Jason Gotay are the first to be cast in the reboot series. Lind will play Audrey, who "has been in a long term relationship and is beginning to wonder what more could be out there." No character details for the remaining quartet were given. (Deadline.com)
INHERITANCE GAMES, THE (Amazon, New!) - Jennifer Lynn Barnes's upcoming YA novel is being developed as a TV series by the streaming service. In the project, "when an eccentric billionaire dies and leaves his fortune to a teenage girl he's never met, the world - and his relatives - are obsessed with figuring out why." Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television are behind the potential hour with Osprey Productions' Josh Berman executive producing and Barnes co-producing. The search is underway for a writer. JUDGE JUDY (Syndication) - The Judy Sheindlin-led staple is signing off after 25 seasons. Originals will continue through the 2020-21 season as previously ordered by CBS Television Distribution. It's understood Sheindlin will then transition to a new series "Judy Justice," which is set to make the pitching rounds. No other details were given. (Deadline.com, 3/1)
LANGDON (NBC) - Ashley Zukerman has been tapped as Dan Brown's literary-turned-feature hero in the drama pilot, which "follows the early adventures of famed Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon (Zukerman), who must solve a series of deadly puzzles to save his kidnapped mentor and thwart a chilling global conspiracy." In addition, Dan Trachtenberg will executive produce and direct. (Deadline.com)
LOST BOYS, THE (The CW) - Rochelle Aytes has scored a role on the feature-turned-drama pilot as Jackie, "the single mother of Garrett and Levi, has just moved back to the North Carolina seaside town she abandoned more than 20 years ago. Now she's returning to take over her dad's bed and breakfast, and perhaps, rekindle an old high school flame." Said role is inspired by the character played by Dianne Wiest in the film. MY VILLAGE (ABC) - Kyra Sedgwick has signed on to star in the multi-camera comedy pilot, about Jean Raines (Sedgwick), "who wonders how she ended up alone while her children live their best lives thousands of miles away. She decides her place is with her family and as she reinserts herself into their lives, her kids realize they might actually need her more than they thought." (Deadline.com)
NIGHT SCHOOL (NBC) - Ian Gomez, Collette Wolfe, James Earl and Joe Massingill have all been cast in the featured-turned-comedy pilot. Gomez plays Luis Flores (Al Madrigal in the film), "a somewhat cynical guy with a chip on his shoulder"; with Wolfe as Theresa Perkins (Mary Lynn Rajskub), "a sweet and timid mother of three"; Earl as Jaylen Watkins (Romany Malco), "a very cool, confident guy who reads a lot on the Internet"; and Massingill as Mackenzie "Mack" Todd (Rob Riggle), "kindhearted and perpetually positive." REPUBLIC OF SARAH, THE (The CW) - Luke Mitchell has booked a lead role on the drama pilot as Sarah's brother Danny: "After enduring a difficult childhood at the hands of his mother, Danny returns to his hometown as the harbinger of its demise. A brilliant young lawyer representing the mining company that wishes to destroy Greylock, Danny must confront his own deep emotional scars as his trip home brings him face to face with the ghosts of his past." THIRTYSOMETHING(ELSE) (ABC) - Kendrick Sampson has been cast in the sequel series pilot as Brad: "Formidable and handsome, he is the boyfriend of Janey Steadman (Odette Annable) and a man of high ideals. As a young activist he single-handedly formed a renters' rights group in Philadelphia that has grown into a large non-profit that promotes affordable housing and helps the homeless. Brad is often obliged by his responsibilities to be more of a conciliator than he would like, and sometimes Janey's volatility is a challenge for him. But they are very much in love, and both are coming to face whatever fears of commitment they harbor." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JEREMY O. HARRIS PROJECT (HBO, New!) - Playwright Jeremy O. Harris has signed a two-year overall deal with the pay channel. First up: an untitled pilot based on his Yale Drama graduate thesis as well as returning to the HBO series "Euphoria" as co-producer. A24 will produce the aforementioned project. (Deadline.com)
