FILTHY RICH/NEXT (FOX) - The network is expected to hold both midseason entries until the fall in an effort to stockpile original content due to the industry's current production shutdown. It's understood options on their respective casts have been signed or in the final stages of negotiations to accommodate the delayed rollout. (Deadline.com)
HORROR OF DOLORES ROACH, THE (Amazon, New!) - The streaming service is developing a TV series take on Aaron Mark's Gimlet podcast. It follows the indomitable Dolores Roach, "who returns to a New York City neighborhood that has changed drastically during the sixteen years she has been in prison. Her boyfriend missing, her family long gone, Dolores is recognized only by an old stoner friend, Luis, who gives Dolores room and board and lets her give massages for cash in the basement apartment under his dilapidated empanada shop. When the promise of her newfound stability is quickly threatened, "Magic Hands Dolores" is driven to extremes to survive - leaving in her wake a string of strangled massage clients. In the face of unexpected professional success, Dolores and Luis become dangerously symbiotic, and Luis must unleash his own particular predilections." A virtual writers' room has been opened for the project with Dara Resnik serving as showrunner. Jason Blum, Marci Wiseman and Jeremy Gold of Blumhouse Television and Chris Giliberti and Justin McGoldrick of Gimlet Pictures will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE (HBO) - Writer/director Derek Cianfrance has signed a two-year overall deal with the pay channel. The pact covers all of his future development. (Variety.com)
LEGO MASTERS (FOX) - The network is exploring a second season of the series for midseason. An official pickup however has yet to be made. (Deadline.com)
MASKED SINGER, THE (FOX) - Fox Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch told investors today on an earnings call the series will return for a fourth season, targeted for a fall debut. (Deadline.com)
MAXXX (Hulu, New!) - Olatunde Olateju Olaolorun "O.T." Fagbenle's British comedy has found a U.S. home at the streaming service. All six episodes will roll out on June 2. The series centers around "a formerly famous boyband star Maxxx, played by Fagbenle, who tries to make his music comeback in a bid to win back his famous supermodel ex-girlfriend, played by Jourdan Dunn, and prove to the world that he isn't a washed-up old has-been." Also starring are Helen Monks as Rose, Christopher Meloni as Don Wild, Pippa Bennett-Warner as Tamzin, and Javone Prince as Lucky. Luti Media and All3Media International are behind the project with Fagbenle and Nick Collett co-directing and Ali Carron producing. Fagbenle and his brother Luti Fagbenle will presumably executive produce. (Deadline.com)
NCIS/NCIS: LOS ANGELES/NCIS: NEW ORLEANS (CBS) - Co-stars Mark Harmon, LL Cool J, Chris O'Donnell and Scott Bakula are on track to return as part of new deals with CBS Television Studios. All four actors' pacts had been set to expire with the current season. (Deadline.com)
PLATFORM (FX) - B.J. Novak's half-hour anthology - which "uses the boldest issues of our times as a jumping off point to tell singular, character-driven stories about the world we live in today" - has been ordered to series. FX Productions is behind the project, which features Lucas Hedges, Kaitlyn Dever, O'Shea Jackson Jr., George Wallace, Ed Asner and Brendan Francis Scannell in the first episode and Jon Bernthal, Boyd Holbrook, Amy Landecker and Beau Bridges in the second. No other plot specifics were given. (Deadline.com)
UNITED WE FALL (ABC) - The Alphabet may hold the multi-camera comedy until late summer or fall. Eight episodes are said to have been completed, which would give the network original content in the 2020-21 season despite the industry's current production shutdown. Options on the cast, which traditionally expire on June 30, however have yet to be extended. (Deadline.com)
