Johnson will replace Andy Garcia as Rick (FKA Percy), Kenan's father-in-law; while Lewis taking over for Punam Patel as Mika (FKA Erica), Kenan's loyal friend and co-worker. Redd then will play a new character, Gary, Kenan's brother. Broadway Video's Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer also executive produce for Universal Television. There's just one problem: Lauren and Xander hate each other. Oh, also Paul dies in the cold open." The project is set up at Ty Burrell's newly launched Desert Whale Productions, which recently signed a two-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television. Burrell executive produces alongside Meltzer, Mel Cowan, Jonny Meeks and Joel Spence. (Deadline.com)
