MILLION LITTLE THINGS, A (ABC) - Andrew Leeds will guest on the show's December 17 episode as Peter, "a highly skilled music teacher who works with young artists. But his style is decidedly not gentle - which likely will be a shock to Sophie, Danny, Theo or whatever kid winds up on the other side of his music stand." (TVLine.com)
NEIGHBORHOOD, THE (CBS) - Michael Gladis, real-life husband to co-star Beth Behrs, will drop by the series as "Calvin's "personable and dryly funny" physician, Dr. Fisher. But when her childhood best friend reveals surprising news, Samantha realizes she can no longer qualify as a party girl - she's a walking disaster." Writer Simone Finch and director Leslye Headland are behind the 20th Television-based project with Jenni Konner and Phil Traill also executive producing. Also cast are Ally Sheedy as Carol, "Samantha's overbearing but absent parent"; Rebecca Henderson as Olivia, "a brilliant melancholic lesbian who works as one of the greeters at AA"; Sasha Compère as Brit, "Samantha's smart, loyal and always well-put-together ex-BFF"; Lily Mae Harrington as Felicia, "Samantha's fun and fearless drinking companion"; and Garrick Bernard as James, "an isolating, high-functioning drunk who works in the tech industry." WILD YEAR ON EARTH, A (BBC America, New!) - Northern Pictures has sold a six-part wildlife documentary series to the cable channel which "follows seasonal events of the natural world including migration, rebirth and transformation. Filmed in 4K, it was shot including migration, rebirth and transformation and features the likes of black kites hunting in the flames of wildfire. Over the course of a turbulent year, the series reveals how the natural world and all of its creatures are connected to the Earth's seasonal patterns, which, in the 21st Century, are becoming more extreme and dangerously unpredictable." Laura Carmichael serves as narrator with Karina Holden executive producing and Daniella Ortega producing. (Deadline.com)
WOMEN OF THE MOVEMENT (ABC) - Emmy winner Glynn Turman has joined the cast of the limited series as Mose Wright, "Emmett Till's great uncle. A sharecropper, minister, and proud family man, Mose's testimony during Emmett's murder trial was noted among the bravest moments of the Civil Rights Movement; it was one of the first times, if not the first, a Black man stood in open court in the South and accused a white man of a crime." (Deadline.com)
ZORRO (NBC) - Sofia Vergara, Robert Rodriguez and Rebecca Rodriguez have signed onto the network's contemporary take on the classic masked vigilante character, which "centers on Sola Dominguez, an underground artist who fights for social justice as contemporary version of the mythical Zorro. Owens, Rodney Ferrell, Greg Lipstone, Jay Weisleder, Luis Balaguer, Geoff Clark, Eric Bromberg and John Gertz also serve as executive producers alongside the aforementioned trio for CBS Studios, Universal Television, Propagate and LatinWe.
