BREEDERS (FX) - Filming on the show's second season has been completed following a two-week pause after a positive coronavirus test. (Deadline.com, 12/22)
GROWING UP ANIMAL (Disney+, New!) - Wall to Wall Media has landed a new six-part documentary series at the streamer "which will tell the story of iconic baby animals from their time in the womb to their first steps towards independence." No specific auspices were given for the project, which "will deliver next year and is shooting all over the world, including in Africa and Canada." (Deadline.com, 12/21)
HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR/HILL HOUSE, THE (Netflix) - Mike Flanagan indicated on social media there "are no plans for more chapters" of the anthology series. (@flanaganfilm, 12/23)
INKWELL (HBO Max, New!) - Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz have sold a drama to the streamer about "a pod of uber affluent Black surfers that suddenly find themselves catapulted into a battle against a mysterious dark superpower consuming the country." They'll write, direct and executive produce via their Gloaming Productions banner. (Deadline.com, 12/21)
JOHNSON (Bounce TV) - Production has begun in Atlanta on the series, which "follows life-long best friends - all with the same last name of Johnson - as they navigate love, friendship, heartbreak and personal growth." D.L Hughley, Thomas Q. Jones, Deji LaRay, Philip Smithey, Derrex Brady, Khalilah Joi, Terri Abney and Rosa Acosta star in the project, which comes from showrunners Jones and LaRay of Midnight Train Productions. Cedric the Entertainer and Eric Rhone's A Bird & A Bear Entertainment also executive produce alongside Reesha L. Archibald with Knoko Chapple producing. The series is set to roll out this summer. MIDDLE CLASS MURDOCHS (CBS, New!) - Nedaa Sweiss and Jonathan Adler are set to team for a multi-camera comedy at the Eye in which "the owner of a successful carpet store in Ohio is retiring, so he must decide which of his four grown children will take over the family business." Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins are also on board to executive produce for CBS Studios. (Deadline.com, 12/22)
SEX AND THE CITY (HBO Max, New!) - The streaming platform is reportedly working out deals to bring back the series as "a limited event on streaming platform HBO Max rather than HBO." Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are said to be interested in returning however Kim Cattrall is unlikely. No other auspices were given. (Deadline.com, 12/23)
SMART ONE, THE (CBS, New!) - Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins have scored a put pilot commitment from the Eye for a hybrid comedy which "revolves around two sisters who are reunited when the smart one - who was supposed to be successful - moves in with the screw-up, who actually became a success." CBS Studios is producing. (Deadline.com, 12/22)
SWAT (CBS) - Shemar Moore revealed on social media he is currently recovering from COVID-19. Said development likely won't impact filming as the series is on a holiday production break. (@shemarfmoore, 12/24)
