FIRST LADY, THE (Showtime) - Aaron Eckhart has been cast as President Gerald Ford in the anthology series: "A star linebacker for the University of Michigan Wolverines, Ford married Betty Bloomer in 1948 and served as a member of the House of Representatives for 25 years, holding Michigan's 5th Congressional District seat from 1949-73. He later became the only person to serve as both vice president and president of the United States without being elected to either office by the electoral college." (Deadline.com)
GREMLINS: SECRETS OF THE MOGWAI (HBO Max) - A.J. LoCascio, B.D. Wong, Gabrielle Green, Izaac Wang, James Hong, Matthew Rhys and Ming-Na Wen are set to voice the 10-episode animated prequel to the beloved film franchise. Wang will voice protagonist Sam Wing with Wen and Wong as his parents, Fong Wing and Hon Wing. Hong then is Grandpa, the elder of the Wing family; with LoCascio as Gizmo; Green as a 12-year-old human friend of Sam's, Elle; and Rhys as nemesis Riley Greene. (Variety.com)
HARRITY ELEMENTARY (UNTITLED QUINTA BRUNSON PROJECT) (ABC) - Quinta Brunson's single-camera comedy - about a group of teachers brought together at one of the worst public schools in the country, simply because they love teaching - is heading to pilot at the Alphabet. Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions' Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker are also executive producing for Warner Bros. Television and 20th Television. (Deadline.com)
LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME (NBC) - Danielle Moné Truitt is the latest to board the spin-off series. No details were given about her role. (Deadline.com)
MARE OF EASTTOWN (HBO) - The Kate Winslet-led limited series has cast Mackenzie Lansing as Brianna Delrasso, "Dylan Hinchey's new girlfriend"; Kate Arrington as Faye, "Frank's new soon-to-be wife"; Ruby Cruz as Jess Riley, "Erin McMenamin's best friend"; Eisa Davis as Gayle Graham, "Mare's grief therapist"; Enid Graham as Dawn Bailey, "a member of the same high school basketball team as Mare"; Justin Hurtt-Dunkley as Officer Trammel, "a new officer on the Easttown police force"; Izzy King as Drew, "Mare's grandson"; Jack Mulhern as Dylan Hinchey, "Erin McMenamin's old boyfriend"; Anthony Norman as Nathan Forde, "a member of Siobhan's band"; Drew Scheid as Geoff Gabeheart, "the drummer in Siobhan's band"; and Madeleine Weinstein as Becca, "Siobhan's bandmate and girlfriend." NATIONAL PARKS (ABC) - Billy Campbell is set to star in the drama pilot as Cal Foster, "an experienced ISB special agent who has worked in the field for years but is now stepping into a new leadership role. He wonders how the team he's worked alongside will respond to taking orders from him, but Cal is determined to honor the position and help his fellow agents no matter what." (Deadline.com)
NCIS: HAWAII (CBS, New!) - Christopher Silber, Jan Nash and Matt Bosack are reportedly spearheading a new spin-off of the franchise which will "feature a new team based in Hawaii." It's understood said effort won't be set up via backdoor pilot, as has been custom for its entries to date: "NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "NCIS: New Orleans." CBS Studios is producing. PAINKILLER (The CW) - Sibongile Mlambo, Alexander Hodge and James Roch will join Jordan Calloway in the proposed "Black Lightning" spin-off, which will be set up in the show's seventh episode this season. Mlambo will play Maya, "a strikingly attractive woman yet is icy and mysterious"; with Hodge as Philky, "a ruggedly handsome with long raven hair, ink art on his body, and one born from a strong Chinese lineage"; and Roch as Cousin Donald, "a larger-than-life, gentle giant who wears a distinct uniform - head-to-toe leather with matching boots - a juxtaposition of his military past." PEACEMAKER (HBO Max) - Alison Araya and Lenny Jacobson are the latest to recur on "The Suicide Squad" spin-off in yet-to-be-detailed roles. (Variety.com)
PRICE WAWA (FOX, New!) - Tim Baltz and Lily Sullivan have sold an animated comedy to the network which "centers around a naive merman prince, voiced by Baltz, who juggles life between the ocean, the only home he's ever known, and his new life on land with his human mother in the breathtaking metropolis of Tampa, Florida." Counterbalance Entertainment's Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald, Hayden Schlossberg and Dina Hillier are also on board to executive produce for Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment. (Deadline.com)
