AP BIO (Peacock) - Hayley Marie Norman has scored an arc on the upcoming season as Shayla: "Sweet, smart, and with a good sense of humor, she's a new substitute teacher at Whitlock High." (Deadline.com)
BANKER'S WIFE, THE (Amazon) - Lesli Linka Glatter and Cheryl Bloch have signed a first-look deal with Universal Television. The pact is timed with the launch of their Backyard Pictures banner. Glatter had been set to helm all eight episodes of the Cristina Alger adaptation, which was shut down by the global pandemic. (Deadline.com)
BLESS THE HARTS (FOX) - A network spokesperson has confirmed the animated comedy will sign off after two seasons in May.
BRIDGERTON (Netflix) - Charithra Chandran and Rupert Young have both scored roles alongside Simone Ashley on the show's sophomore run. Ashley plays Anthony's romantic interest, Kate Sharma; while Chandran will play "her younger sister, Edwina, who first catches the Viscount's attention." And Young is Jack, "the newest member of the Ton with a connection to one of its most notable families and a Bridgerton mystery. The character was created for the series; he is not in the books." EXPOSURE (Hulu, New!) - The streamer will roll out a new reality competition series - which "sees up-and-coming photographers participating in weekly challenges that put their skills to the test, with the winner being crowned the next great photographer" - on Monday, April 26. Samsung, in partnership with BBH Entertainment, created the series, with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith's Westbrook Media producing it. (THR.com)
GASLIT (Starz) - Dan Stevens is set to join Julia Roberts and Sean Penn in the Watergate drama as White House counsel John Dean. He replaces Armie Hammer, "who fell off the show in the wake of sexual assault allegations." (Deadline.com)
HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL WITHOUT HURTING MEN'S FEELINGS (CBS) - Amy York Rubin has been tapped to direct the single-camera comedy pilot from Sarah Cooper and Cindy Chupack, which "revolves around three women at different stages in their careers at a male-dominated company who help each other navigate modern gender politics in their professional and personal lives." MAGNOLIA TABLE WITH JOANNA GAINES (Disney+) - The Magnolia Network's flagship series will return for a second season on Friday, April 9 followed by a third season three months later, this summer. (THR.com)
OFFER, THE (Paramount+) - Dexter Fletcher has signed on to direct the first block of episodes of the limited series, based on Oscar-winning producer Al Ruddy's extraordinary, never-revealed experiences of making "The Godfather." He'll also executive produce alongside Ruddy, Michael Tolkin, Nikki Toscano, Leslie Greif and Dalia Ibelhauptaite. (THR.com)
PHYSICAL (Apple TV+) - Ian Gomez will recur on the newcomer as Ernie, "an early tech pioneer who hit the jackpot with one of his inventions, and now plays a big role in local politics." (Deadline.com)
POWERPUFF GIRLS, THE (The CW) - Nicholas Podany has been tapped as "nerdy, power-hungry, insecure Joseph "Jojo" Mondel Jr. [who] was obsessed with the original crime-fighting trio of supergirls, despite his father's grudge against them. As an adult, Jojo finds his sweetness and rage constant battle. In the original cartoon series, Mojo Jojo posed as the super-powered trio's main adversary. Before the battles against Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, Mojo Jojo served as a chimpanzee assistant to Professor Utonium in his lab where he accidentally caused the accident that created the Powerpuff Girls, and altered his own DNA." UNDERGROUND RAILROAD, THE (Amazon) - Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski, and Mark Ceryak's Pastel banner has signed a first-look television deal with HBO and HBO Max and A24. (Deadline.com)
VON DUTCH DOCUMENTARY SERIES (Hulu, New!) - The Intellectual Property Corporation has booked a three-part documentary series at the streamer which "chronicles the true story behind the rise and fall of the iconic 2000s fashion brand. In this character-driven saga, Venice Beach surfers, gangsters, European fashionistas and Hollywood movers and shakers all vie for control of the infamous brand - pushing it from obscurity to one of the most recognizable labels on Earth. After a decade of backstabbing, greed and bloodshed, their lives - and pop culture - will never be the same." Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, Sheila Conlin and Andrew Renzi are the executive producers on the project, due later this year, with Renzi directing. (Deadline.com)
