BACHELOR IN PARADISE (ABC) - David Spade will serve as a guest host on the upcoming season, one of several celebrity comedians that has been approached to take over said duties from Chris Harrison. (Variety.com)
DANGER FORCE (Nickelodeon) - Sasha A. Cohen and Natalie R. Cohen will both appear on the show's June 19 episode. The former's casting comes after co-star Michael D. Cohen (no relation) "launched the Trans Youth Acting Challenge in December to help trans and nonbinary youth break into the business." (Variety.com)
DAYS OF ABANDONMENT, THE (HBO) - Mary-Louise Parker is set to star opposite Natalie Portman in Elena Ferrante's novel-turned-telefilm. Parker will play Mysterious Woman, "a mesmerizing but elusive woman Tess starts encountering everywhere she goes, causing Tess to question her sanity." (Deadline.com)
HORROR OF DOLORES ROACH, THE (Amazon) - Justina Machado is set to star in the podcast-turned-drama pilot, billed as "a grotesque Sweeney Todd-inspired tale of eat or be eaten - a macabre urban legend of love, betrayal, weed, gentrification, cannibalism and survival of the fittest. "Magic Hands" Dolores Roach (Machado) is released from prison after 16 years and returns to a severely gentrified Washington Heights with $200 and the clothes on her back. With her boyfriend missing, her family long gone and her apartment now occupied by strangers, Dolores finds respite in the dilapidated storefront Empanada Loca around the corner - the only remnant of her former life." Roxann Dawson is attached to direct and executive produce alongside writer Aaron Mark, Dara Resnik, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, Chris Giliberti and Justin McGoldrick. (Deadline.com)
I AM JAZZ (TLC) - The Jazz Jennings-led staple has been renewed for a seventh season on the cable channel. (Variety.com)
JUPITER'S LEGACY/SUPER CROOKS (Netflix) - The streamer has nixed "Jupiter's Legacy" in its current form, releasing its principal cast, which includes Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb and Ben Daniels. "We're confident we'll return to it later," franchise creator Mark Millar said in a statement. The saga will instead continue in a live-action adaptation of "Super Crooks," "a return to the world of Jupiter's Legacy with a rag-tag gang of super-villains, con-artists, petty thieves and leg-breakers who all band together for the heist of the century and the most outrageous crime story you've ever seen in your life. Crime pays and they're going to prove it. Some people just want to have the time of their lives and make a little dirty money while they're doing it. If the superheroes get in the way they're going to be spitting teeth." Its animated incarnation will roll out later this year. (Deadline.com)
LOST APOTHECARY, THE (FOX, New!) - Sarah Penner's novel is being developed for television by the network and FOX Entertainment. The project is "centered around a secret apothecary shop caters to an unusual kind of clientele. Women across the city whisper of a mysterious figure named Nella who sells well-disguised poisons to use against the oppressive men in their lives. But the apothecary's fate is jeopardized when her newest patron, a precocious twelve-year-old, makes a fatal mistake, sparking a string of consequences that echo through the centuries." The search is underway for a writer. (Deadline.com)
NCIS: LOS ANGELES (CBS) - Gerald McRaney, who recurs as retired Adm. Hollis Kilbride, will return as a regular for the series' 13th season. (Deadline.com)
PERIPHERAL, THE (Amazon) - Louis Herthum, Chris Coy, Melinda Page Hamilton, Katie Leung and Austin Rising are the latest to be cast in the William Gibson adaptation as Corbell Pickett, Jasper, Ella, Ash, and Leon, respectively. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
TERMINAL LIST, THE (Amazon) - LaMonica Garrett, Alexis Louder and Tom Amandes are the latest bound for the Chris Pratt-led series. Garrett joins the cast as Commander Fox, "a strong institutionalist who never loses sight of the greater mission - he preaches integrity, honor and trust, and knows a SEAL's actions always reflect on the uniform." Louder is Nicole Deptul, "a junior FBI agent and mother of two"; and Amandes is Vic, "the father of Riley Keough's Lauren Reece and father-in-law to Pratt's James." (Deadline.com)
