Yulin Kuang To Adapt Maurene Goo's I Believe In A Thing Called Love For Netflix

Yulin Kuang will adapt the feature film I Believe In A Thing Called Love based on Maurene Goo's YA novel of the same name.

Maurene Goo is the author of several acclaimed and award-winning young adult novels, including Somewhere Only We Know and The Way You Make Me Feel.

Screenwriter: Yulin Kuang (Love Daily, The Healing Powers of Dude, I Ship It, Jade Palace)

Cast: Byung-hun Lee (The Magnificent Seven, the G.I. Joe series, Red 2, Terminator Genisys)

Producers: A-Major Media's Mary Lee; BH Entertainment's Charles Pak; and Byung-hun Lee

Executive Producer: Maurene Goo

Quote from Mary Lee: "I Believe in a Thing Called Love reminds me of the aspirational stories that I loved as a teenager. Maurene found a way to tap into the fun world of K-dramas through the perspective of a girl who learns that life is something that you can't control, and Yulin's voice was perfect for the adaptation. We're thrilled to partner with Netflix and can't wait for audiences to fall in love with Desi."

Quote from Maurene Goo: "I Believe in a Thing Called Love has found a home with Netflix! I'm so proud of my amazing team - Yulin, A-Major, and BH Entertainment - and it's a thrill to finally share this exciting news."

Logline: Desi, an overachieving high school senior decides to use the laws of K-drama romances to land herself a boyfriend.

Netflix previously acquired the rights to Maurene Goo's novel Somewhere Only We Know, which will also be adapted into a feature film.
