FAUDA/HIT & RUN/UNTITLED ISSACHAROFF & RAZ PROJECT (Netflix) - Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz's Faraway Road Productions, home to the aforementioned projects, have renewed their overall deal with Netflix. "Fauda" is currently in pre-production for a fourth season while "Hit & Run" debuted earlier this month. (Deadline.com)
FIRST LADY, THE (Showtime) - The upcoming anthology series has cast Jackie Earle Haley as Louis McHenry Howe, "a former reporter for the New York Herald who spent the majority of his life serving as political advisor to Franklin D. Roosevelt (Kiefer Sutherland), culminating in running FDR's landslide 1932 Presidential victory campaign"; Maria Dizzia as Lucy Mercer Rutherfurd, "Eleanor Roosevelt's (Gillian Anderson) dear friend and social secretary, whose affair with FDR was a turning point in Eleanor's life"; and Jeremy Bobb as Theodore Roosevelt, "the progressive 26th president of the United States and Eleanor Roosevelt's uncle." HACKS (HBO Max) - Co-creator Jen Statsky has extended her overall deal with producer Universal Television, her home since 2019. The pact covers her duties on the show's second season as well as any future development. (Deadline.com)
SERPENT QUEEN, THE (Starz) - Beth Goddard and Alex Heath have both booked roles on the Samantha Morton-led period drama. Goddard will play Antoinette Guise, "who wears the pants in the family. At her goading, her sons will do anything to claim the throne, including start a civil war." And Heath will recur as Young Henri. (Deadline.com)
