First series written and directed by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo and starring Itsaso Arana, Mónica Miranda, María Rodríguez Soto, Mariona Terés, Mariona Terés and Godeliv Van den Brandt

The Girls in the Back is the story of five 30-year-olds, close friends since school, who organize a one-week getaway together every year without exception. This year, something has come up that will force them to invent new rules of the game: One of them has been diagnosed with cancer. There are trips that change your life forever. There are lives that travel changes forever.

Based on his own original idea, Daniel Sánchez Arévalo (Dark Blue Almost Black, Seventeen) has written and directed this new series that will premiere on September 23rd. Produced for Netflix by Atípica Films, this fiction has 6 episodes and has been filmed in several locations throughout Cadiz and Madrid.

The Girls at the Back's main cast is headed by Itsaso Arana (Reyes de la noche, The August Virgin), Mónica Miranda (Everybody Knows, I Can Quit Whenever I Want), María Rodríguez Soto (The Days To Come, Com si fos ahir), Mariona Terés (Veneno, Paquita Salas) and Godeliv Van den Brandt (Valeria, Sky Rojo).

Special guest stars include Javier Rey (HACHE, Cocaine Coast), Macarena García (Paraíso, The Ministry Of Time), Michelle Jenner (Heirs to the Land, Isabel), Carmen Machi (Criminal, Mother's Love), Antonio de la Torre (The Endless Trench, Marshland) and Melina Matthews (La Peste, Warrior Nun).

Atípica Films (La Peste, Seventeen, Marshland, Smoke & Mirrors, Cousins, Unit 7) is an independent audiovisual production company founded by José Antonio Félez and Cristina Sutherland in 2009.
