WE tv Gives Audiences More "Toya & Reginae"

New Reality Series Follows Toya Johnson-Rushing and daughter with Lil' Wayne, Reginae Carter

New York, NY - April 18, 2023 - WE tv, AMC Networks' destination for compelling unscripted television, today announced the greenlight of Toya & Reginae, a new reality series featuring ex-wife and daughter of hip hop legend Lil Wayne, Toya Johnson-Rushing and Reginae Carter. The series will debut this fall, exclusively on WE tv and sister streamer ALLBLK.

Toya & Reginae follows the ups and downs of one of Atlanta's most dynamic mother daughter duos. Toya Johnson-Rushing and Reginae Carter have been famous for a very long time. Every tweet, comment, or post they make is dissected on all the hottest blogs because they present so fabulously and Reginae's popularity since her sweet 16 party has never waned. However, what their fans see on social media is just scratching the surface. On each episode, fans will get to peek behind the curtain and see who they truly are: what's happening in their love lives, how they navigate those relationships in conjunction with their exciting and demanding careers and their relationship with each other. As happy as they seem on social media, their lives are unpredictable and full of chaos as they navigate a seemingly dysfunctional family.

"I'm so excited to let viewers back into our lives to see what my family has been up to since you've seen us last," shared Toya Johnson-Rushing.

"Our audience first met Toya and Regina on Growing Up Hip Hop, which is a gift that keeps on giving. These two dynamic women are audience favorites with compelling and endlessly entertaining journeys to follow, nothing will be off limits as we dig in," said Brett Dismuke, General Manager, WE tv and ALLBLK. "We're thankful to Toya and Reginae for sharing a deeper look into their lives, and to eOne and Datari for the continued partnership and support."

The Growing Up Hip Hop franchise has become a household name and must-see television as the series follows the careers, lives, loves, losses and jaw-dropping interactions of notable Hip Hop icons and their families. Previous seasons have featured Bone Thugs-n-Harmony's Layzie Bone, Master P and son Romeo Miller, Salt-N-Pepa's Pepa alongside her daughter Egypt and husband Sam, Rev Run's children: Vanessa Simmons, Angela Simmons and Jojo Simmons, Eazy-E's son Eric "Lil Eazy-E" Wright Jr., Jodeci's JoJo Hailey alongside ex-wife Tiny and daughter Sakoya Wynter, Cree Campbell and many others.

Growing Up Hip Hop and Toya & Reginae are produced by Entertainment One (eOne) with Tara Long and Gennifer Gardiner serving as executive producers alongside Datari Turner of Datari Turner Productions. Ashley McFarlin executive produces for WE tv.
