BONDSMAN, THE (Amazon, New!) - Kevin Bacon is attached to star in a new half-hour, eight-episode series at the streamer "centered on Hub Halloran (Bacon), a backwoods bounty hunter who comes back from the dead with an unexpected second chance at life, and love, and a nearly-forgotten musical career - only to find that his old job now has a demonic new twist." Grainger David is behind the project with Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, Chris Dickie, Erik Oleson and Paul Shapiro also executive producing for Blumhouse Television and CrimeThink. (Deadline.com)
CHI, THE (Showtime) - Lynn Whitfield will recur on the upcoming sixth season as Alicia, "an intimidating, old-money matriarch who will spare no expense to get what she wants." (Deadline.com)
FLOOR, THE (FOX, New!) - The network is looking to import the Dutch physical quiz show, detailed as follows: "The first challenger, selected at random, must choose one of his or her neighboring opponents to go head-to-head in an epic quiz duel in the opponent's category. The winner takes over the loser's square, gaining valuable ground as they expand their territory, while the loser exits the game. The winner must then choose - do they continue on and attempt to secure another square? Or do they let The Floor choose a new challenger? The last contestant standing who gains full control over The Floor takes home a life-changing $250,000 cash prize." John De Mol, Anthony Carbone, Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Mark van Achterberg, Eden Gaha and Wes Dening are the executive producers for Eureka Productions and Talpa. (Deadline.com)
GATTACA/SEASONED (Showtime) - The pay channel has opted not to proceed with both projects: a drama series remake of the 1997 movie and a comedy starring real-life husband and wife Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn Grody. Sony Pictures Television and Jax Media respectively will shop the series elsewhere. Additionally, Showtime is also not moving forward with two development projects: "Sweetness" and "Split." The former "revolved around a town full of grieving widows, a pair of bored schoolgirls, a rom-com leading lady with a dark fixation, Princess Diana's biggest fan and the Internet wife who isn't all that she seems." Emerald Fennell penned the script with Nick Stoller among the executive producers for Sony Pictures Television. The latter "was a propulsive dramatic thriller that takes the double-agent genre to a whole new level. Built around the double life of America-born Josh Solomon." No auspices were given. (THR.com)
HOME ECONOMICS (ABC) - The Alphabet has extended the options on the show's cast beyond its June 30 deadline, keeping the hopes of a potential season four alive. (TVLine.com)
MONSTERS: THE LYLE AND ERIK MENENDEZ STORY (Netflix) - Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez have been tapped for the title roles on the anthology series, which "will tell the story of the real-life brothers who were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents, José and Mary Louise "Kitty" Menéndez. Although the siblings eventually confessed to parricide, they have long sustained that the reason for their actions was due to physical, emotional and sexual abuse." (Deadline.com)
SERIAL KILLER'S WIFE, THE (Paramount+, New!) - Annabel Scholey, Jack Farthing and Luke Treadaway are attached to star in a new drama for the streamer: "Set in an idyllic English town, Beth Fairchild (Scholey: The Split) has prepared a surprise birthday party for her husband Tom (Farthing: Rain Dogs). With most of the village present as Tom is the beloved local doctor, Beth's world is turned upside down when the party is interrupted by the police and Tom is arrested for murder. Beth believes her husband has been wrongly accused but she soon makes some shocking discoveries that cast doubt on his innocence, and she confides her worries in Adam (Treadaway), Tom's best friend from childhood." Clapperboard Studios and BlackBox Multimedia are behind the series, with Andy Morgan, Mike Benson, Chiara Cardoso and Giuliano Papadia executive producing. Laura Way is directing with Jonathan Phillips serving as the producer and Suzanne Cowie and Ben Morris as writers. (Deadline.com)
