Max Announces Partnership With Nike Yardrunners For "SpelHouse" Homecoming 2023 Tailgate Activation

Today, two storytelling powerhouses, Max and Nike Yardrunners, have announced their partnership to celebrate "SpelHouse'' Homecoming and to shine a spotlight on the rich histories of Spelman College and Morehouse College - two of America's premier HBCUs. The partnership will include a story-driven activation area during the Morehouse Homecoming Tailgate on Saturday, October 28, which will feature the highly anticipated unveiling of the Nike x Spelman and Morehouse sneaker, exclusive merch, photo opportunities, and various social moments for guests.

In celebration of Black creativity on the yard, The Max and Nike Yardrunners activation will feature "The Story Wall," showcasing the stories of past and present Yardrunner creators, SpelHouse alumni, and other creatives who have made waves in their respective fields. Each creator will have a photo alongside their personal accounts of the first time they felt #SceneontheYard. In addition, guests will get an opportunity to see the new YardRunner 4.0 Nike Terminator sneaker, designed by Bradon "Jinx" Jenkins (Morehouse, class of 2009) and Nani Edwards (Spelman, class of 2015) before its official release.

To further commemorate the moment, guests can access a portrait studio led by renowned photographer, fellow Nike Yardrunner, and a Morehouse alum (class of 2011), Cam Kirk. To encourage real-time social sharing, these images will be captured and shared directly with guests. On the ground, HBCU Buzz and Max Scene in Black will be tapping directly into the college community, providing social media coverage that includes interviews with students, Fit Cams, and more to highlight the essence of the HBCU experience. Additionally, attendees will be treated to beats of a live DJ, convenient phone charging stations, food and beverages, and giveaway stations offering exclusive merchandise, including Nike's Morehouse and Spelman collection t-shirts and Max x Nike Yardrunners bags.
