'Serpientes y Escaleras', the New Comedy Series That Will Reunite Manolo Caro and Cecilia Suárez, Starts Production

After The House of Flowers (2018) and Someone Has to Die (2020), director Manolo Caro and actress Cecilia Suárez will once again bring their talents together in Serpientes y Escaleras, a new comedy that revolves around ambition, power, and glory. In this story, filmed in Guadalajara, Cecilia will play a teacher who gets involved in a fight between two students, and what seems to be an insignificant event will completely change her life.

Manolo and Cecilia have also collaborated together in the films I Don't Know Whether to Slit My Wrists or Leave Them Long (2013), Elvira I Will Give You My Life But I'm Using It (2014), Tales of an Immoral Couple (2016) and Perfect Strangers (2018).

"Serpientes y Escaleras is a project I've been working on for several years, it's comedy, dark, sexy and incorrect. In short, it's a return to the genre that makes me happiest, but with the learning from the last projects. It's crazy," says the Mexican director.

Joining Cecilia Suárez in the cast are Juan Pablo Medina, Martiño Rivas, Marimar Vega, Benny Emmanuel, Loreto Peralta, Michelle Rodríguez, Alfredo Gatica, Germán Bracco, Gerardo Trejoluna, and Luis Felipe Tovar, with a special performance by Margarita Gralia.

About Serpientes y Escaleras:

In a renowned school, a teacher becomes involved in a dispute between two students. What appears to be just another incident will change the protagonist's entire life in a story about ambition, power, and glory.

Produced by Woo Films and Noc Noc Cinema, led by producers María José Córdova, Triana García Simón, Rafael Ley, and Manolo Caro. The series was written by Manolo Caro, Alexandro Aldrete, Ángela Armero, and Estibaliz Burgaleta.
