NBC Unveils the 44 Remarkable Acts to Perform on "America's Got Talent" Live Shows
New this season, the live shows will begin with four weeks of quarterfinals before heading into a semifinal round and culminating in a two-week finale event.

Two-Hour Live Shows Kick Off Tuesday, Aug. 13; Results Shows Air Wednesdays

For the First Time in "AGT" History, Live Show Golden Buzzers Will Send 4 Acts Straight to the Finals

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Aug. 6, 2024 - "America's Got Talent," the most watched broadcast unscripted series for 19 summers, returns to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium for seven weeks of live shows beginning Tuesday, Aug. 13 (8-10 p.m. ET/PT) on NBC. Results shows will air Wednesday nights beginning, Wednesday, Aug. 14 (8-9 p.m. ET/PT).

New this season, the live shows will begin with four weeks of quarterfinals before heading into a semifinal round and culminating in a two-week finale event.

Over the course of four quarterfinal rounds, 44 acts will perform live for "America's Got Talent" judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and host Terry Crews, competing for a unique chance to be sent straight to the finals with the new Live Show Golden Buzzer. With elite-level talent, this season called for the most golden buzzers in the series history, after the judges advocated to add more buzzers to honor the innumerable standout acts. In each quarterfinal, one judge will be allotted a Golden Buzzer for the night, inspiring acts to bring their best.

Acts moving on from the auditions to the live shows range from professional artists to aspiring performers balancing day jobs, including a high school janitor, a dentist, and a prison nurse, all vying to win America's hearts and a $1 million prize. The wide variety of contestants this season surprised the judges with their unique take on talent, from comedians incorporating magic, performances involving fire and drones, and a phenomenal number of kids whose talent defied their age and experience.

In each week of quarterfinals, 11 acts will take the stage live and, for the first time in show history, a Live Show Golden Buzzer will send one act directly to the finals. America's vote will then determine which additional three acts will advance to the semifinals.

In the semifinal round, 12 acts will compete and the six acts that receive the most votes from the viewers will then join the four Live Show Golden Buzzers in a showstopping two-night finale beginning Tuesday, Sept. 17 and concluding Tuesday, Sept 24.
