Dive into the 1960s and 80s Korean Music Scene with Upcoming Series 'Show Business' (WT)

Netflix announced the production and cast of Show Business (WT), starring Song Hye-kyo, Gong Yoo, Kim Seol-hyun, Cha Seung-won, and Lee Hanee. Set against the backdrop of the gritty and intense 1960s and 80s Korean entertainment industry, Show Business (WT) follows the journey of individuals who, despite having little, dreamed of glimmering success and gave it their all.

Song Hye-kyo (The Glory) takes on the role of Min-ja, a resilient woman shaped by a challenging childhood. While making her way through life, she sees an opportunity in the Korean music industry and boldly dives in, determined to make her mark.

Gong Yoo (Squid Game) plays Dong-gu, Min-ja's childhood friend. Having faced all kinds of situations together growing up, they later enter the music industry side by side. Even though he's reckless and unpredictable, Dong-gu has a soft spot for Min-ja and listens to anything she says.

Kim Seol-hyun (Light Shop) plays Min-hui, who has held a love-hate relationship with Min-ja since childhood. Once innocent and naive, following everything Min-ja says, Min-hui also reveals a rebellious and sharp side.

Cha Seung-won (Uprising) transforms into Gil-yeo, the greatest composer of their era. A major figure in the music industry, Gil-yeo is known for turning every singer he has worked with into a star.

Hanee Lee (The Fiery Priest) plays Yang-ja, Min-ja's mom and an aspiring singer. Despite facing difficult circumstances and harsh realities, Yang-ja never gives up on her dream, holding on with perseverance and passion.

Written by Noh Hee-gyoung (Our Blues) and directed by Lee Yoon-jung (Coffee Prince), Show Business (WT) tells the tale of people who fiercely dreamed of the spotlight, even in dark times. Stay tuned for more updates, only on Netflix.
