Supercell's World of CLASH is Invading Netflix with a New Animated Series

May 20th 2025 - Sound the horns, raise the banners and maybe reinforce your village walls - because CLASH is marching onto Netflix. Supercell and Netflix have partnered to bring the legendary video game franchise to life with an animated series, set in the iconic world of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, which has been greenlit and is currently in pre-production. The new series will build upon the mayhem of the games. It follows a determined, but in over his head, Barbarian who must rally a band of misfits to defend their village and navigate the comically absurd politics of war.

At the helm is showrunner, Fletcher Moules (Entergalactic, Agent Elvis), who's no stranger to the world of CLASH after working with Supercell to direct the original Clash of Clans animated videos, which have amassed hundreds of millions of views on the game's official YouTube channel. Moules is joined by head writer, Ron Weiner (Silicon Valley, 30 Rock, Futurama, Arrested Development) with Vancouver-based ICON Creative Studio leading animation.

Curtis Lelash, Head of Film & TV at Supercell, said: "We're thrilled to be working with Netflix and this creative team to bring the world of CLASH to life. Think epic battles, immaculate Barbarian mustaches, and the kind of humor our players know and love.. They've been asking for a CLASH series forever, and we're beyond excited to finally say: it's happening!"

John Derderian, Vice President, Animation Series, Netflix, said: "CLASH has been a global gaming phenomenon for over a decade - filled with humor, action, and unforgettable characters perfect for an animated series adaptation. Working with the incredible team at Supercell, Fletcher Moules and Ron Weiner, we're bringing all the fun, chaos and spirit of the world of CLASH to life in a whole new way. We can't wait for fans - old and new - to experience the mayhem."

Clash of Clans and Clash Royale are two of the biggest games of all time. Since the franchise's first game (Clash of Clans) globally launched on iOS and Android in 2012*, both games have racked up a combined total of over four billion downloads and 180 billion gameplay hours by fans across the world.

Netflix has become a go-to destination for animation featuring a slate of action packed animated series like Arcane, Devil May Cry, Blue Eye Samurai, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and Sonic Prime alongside a number of exciting upcoming titles like Stranger Things: Tales From '85, a new animated series set in the Stranger Things Universe.

Stay tuned for more details coming down the line. In the meantime, check out the franchise's YouTube channels (Clash of Clans / Clash Royale) for the reactions from the CLASH game teams. Notes to Editors * Following Clash of Clans in 2012, Clash Royale globally launched on iOS and Android in 2016. About Supercell
