BROTHER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER (Apple TV+) - Filming on the Matthew McConaughey/Woody Harrelson-led series has been paused after the departure of showrunner David West Read. Lee Eisenberg is in talks to take over the series for filming of its last two episodes and any expected reshoots. "The change is being made amid differing views over how to end the season," the report says. (Deadline.com, 6/20)
CARELL, LAWRENCE & TARSES COMEDY SERIES (HBO) - Connie Britton and Annie Mumolo will both recur on the series. Britton will play "the ex-wife of lead Steve Carell's character" while Mumolo's role wasn't specified. (Deadline.com, 6/18)
FIVE-STAR WEEKEND, THE (Peacock) - Timothy Olyphant has boarded the Elin Hilderbrand adaptation of Jack. No other details were given. (Variety.com, 6/20)
IT'S NOT LIKE THAT (Amazon) - The faith-based drama series has cast Leven Miranda, Cassidy Paul and Cary Christopher as Flora, Penelope and Justin, respectively, "Malcolm's (Scott Foley) children in the series"; as well as Caleb Baumann and Lindell Liv as "Lori's (Erinn Hayes) children, Merritt and Casey, respectively." JOSEPH OF EGYPT (Amazon, New!) - "The Chosen" creator Dallas Jenkins has set up another biblical drama at Amazon MGM Studios: "Betrayed by jealous brothers, Joseph defies all expectations and rises to incredible power in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh. But when his past catches up with him, he is confronted with the ultimate test." Craig Wright is spearheading the project for Jenkins's 5&2 Studios. (Variety.com, 6/17)
LAND OF THE LOST (Netflix, New!) - Legendary Television's reboot of Sid and Marty Krofft's 1974 sci-fi adventure show has landed at the streamer: "Land of the Lost centers on a father, Rick, and his two children who accidentally go through a portal and find themselves trapped in a world inhabited by dinosaurs, including a Tyrannosaurus rex they nickname Grumpy; primate-like people named Pakuni, one of whom, Cha-Ka, they befriend; and reptilian humanoids called Sleestak." Sid and Marty Krofft as well as Marty's daughter Deanna Krofft Pope are the executive producers for their banner Sid & Marty Krofft Pictures. The search is underway for a writer. (Deadline.com, 6/17)
OTHER BENNET SISTER, THE (BritBox) - The streamer's Jane Austen universe series has added Ruth Jones as Mrs Bennet; Richard E. Grant as Mr Bennet; Indira Varma as Mrs Gardiner; Richard Coyle as Mr Gardiner; Laurie Davidson as Mr Ryder; Dónal Finn as Mr Hayward; Roisin Bhalla as Marianne; Reggie Absolom as George; and Jasmine Sharp as Rebecca. REMARRIED EMPRESS, THE (Disney+, New!) - Shin Mina, Ju Jihoon, Lee Jongsuk and Lee Seyoung are set to star in a new Korean drama at the streamer based on the webtoon of the same name: "The webtoon has received over 2.6 billion views so far, with the story following empress Navier, whose husband shocks her one day when he returns home with his mistress and demands a divorce. Unwilling to let the Emperor ruin her life, Navier grants his request but in return, asks to marry a rival prince of the Western Kingdom, igniting a tale of political intrigue, romance, and a fight to reclaim her stolen power." Shin will star as Empress Navier; with Ju as Emperor Sovieshu of the Eastern Empire; Lee Jongsuk as Heinrey, "the Crown Prince of the Western Kingdom who harbors a hidden secret"; and Lee Seyoung as Rashta, "the former runaway slave-turned-concubine of Sovieshu who sets her sights on the empress' throne." Cho Suwon is directing from scripts by Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol. (Deadline.com, 6/19)
TOMMY & TUPPENCE (BritBox, New!) - The streamer has ordered a six-part series "that will reimagine Tommy and Tuppence Beresford in the modern world, more than a century after they first appeared together in [Agatha] Christie's The Secret Adversary." Phoebe Eclair-Powell is behind the project, which is set up at Lookout Point and Agatha Christie Limited. Robert Schildhouse, Jon Farrar, Stephen Nye, Laura Lankester, Katie Draper, Louise Mutter and James Prichard are the executive producers. (Deadline.com, 6/16)
