DETECTION CLUB, THE (BritBox, New!) - BBC Studios Drama Productions is developing a new series about "a mysterious society of famous crime writers whose members included Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers and G.K. Chesterton." No auspices were given for the project, which "is understood to be taking a 'mystery-of-the-week' style approach with fictional versions of Christie, Sayers and Chesterton set as the main characters solving crimes each episode." (Deadline.com, 7/23)

EXTRAORDINARY ATTORNEY WOO (Netflix, New!) - Leila Gerstein is spearheading an English-language adaptation of the Korean series at the streamer: "Premiering on Netflix and on ENA in South Korea in June 2022, Extraordinary Attorney Woo starred Park Eun-bin as Woo Young-woo, a rookie attorney with autism spectrum disorder and a remarkable photographic memory, who achieves success at a major law firm in Seoul given her legal acumen and unique perspective on her work, despite initial skepticism from her colleagues." Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed will also executive produce for Jerry Bruckheimer Television. (Deadline.com, 7/23)

Kent Alterman, Sarah Babineau, and Jordan Tilzer will also executive produce for Good Walk and Universal Television. (Deadline.com, 7/21)
HAPPY FACE (Paramount+) - The streamer has canceled the series, starring Annaleigh Ashford and Dennis Quaid, after one season. (Deadline.com, 7/21)

MEMORY OF A KILLER (FOX) - Odeya Rush has landed a role on the upcoming drama as Maria, "Angelo's daughter. Married young and pregnant, it seems she's chosen a quiet life. But something stirs in her - a yearning for adventure. Might she be a chip off the old hitman block? Angelo is Maria's everything, so when his mind begins to falter, she's right there by his side to care for him. As she gets closer and closer to her father, she'll find that being close to Angelo is a dangerous place to be." (Deadline.com, 7/21)

PLEASE SEE HR (Hulu, New!) - Evan Waite has sold a workplace comedy to the streamer: "While specifics as to the plot are under wraps, the show is set in the Human Resources department of Miser Perpetuale, a massive, for-profit healthcare "provider" (legally, they have to put that in quotation marks)." Alec Sulkin, Trevor Engelson, and Doug Banker will also executive produce for 20th Television, Underground Films, and Five All in the Fifth Entertainment. Sean Shepard serves as a producer. (Deadline.com, 7/23)

And Bolger will play Bridget Walsh, "a steely and calculating IRA operative with a troubled past, the girlfriend of Jimmy Roarke who's passionate about saving Ireland from British oppression." (Variety.com, 7/22)
WOLFENSTEIN (Amazon, New!) - Patrick Somerville is spearheading a TV series based on the "Wolfenstein" video games at Amazon MGM Studios: "The "Wolfenstein" franchise helped popularize first-person shooter video games.
