UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Aug. 14, 2025 - "The Traitors" is coming to NBC with an all-new civilian version of Peacock's Emmy Award-winning competition reality series known for strategic gameplay and skillful saboteurs.

Instead of the guest list of celebrities and socialites, this time Emmy-winning host Alan Cumming is opening the doors to his now infamous castle in the Scottish Highlands to everyday people. There he will ask them, "Are you a Faithful? Or are you a Traitor?"

The announcement was made by Cumming at the inaugural Televerse 2025 conference at J.W. Marriott Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

Production on the NBC version of "The Traitors" will begin in 2026.

The third season of "The Traitors" launched Jan. 9 on Peacock and premiered as the #1 unscripted series in the U.S., according to data from Nielsen. Recently, "The Traitors" was honored with five Emmy nominations for season 3, including Alan Cumming for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program while the show was nominated for Outstanding Reality Competition Program, Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program, Outstanding Cinematography for a Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program.

In addition, "The Traitors" led this year's Critics Choice Real TV Awards with three awards: Best Competition Series, Best Ensemble Cast in an Unscripted Series and Best Show Host for Alan Cumming.

The second season of "The Traitors" took home two Emmys, including Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Host for a Reality Competition Series for Alan Cumming; a PGA Award for Outstanding Producer of Game & Competition Television; four Critics Choice Real TV Awards; and the TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Reality.

The fourth season of "The Traitors" premieres in 2026 on Peacock. As previously announced, "The Traitors" has been renewed for a fifth season. All episodes of the first three seasons are now available to stream on Peacock.

ABOUT "THE TRAITORS"

The Emmy Award-winning series "The Traitors" is a nail-biting psychological adventure in which treachery and deceit are the name of the game. Hosted by award-winning actor Alan Cumming at an ancient castle set deep in the Scottish Highlands, contestants work together on a series of exhilarating missions to build a prize fund worth up to $250,000. Hidden amongst the Faithful are the Traitors, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithful and claim the prize for themselves. Under the cover of darkness, the Traitors murder the Faithful one by one in a treacherous spree while the Faithful try to uncover the Traitors and banish them from the game. If the Faithful contestants banish all the Traitors, they will share the prize fund, but if a Traitor (or Traitors) makes it to the end, they will steal all the money.

"The Traitors" is produced by Studio Lambert, part of All3 Media. Alan Cumming hosts as well as serves as an executive producer along with Mike Cotton, Sam Rees-Jones, Rosie Franks, Jack Burgess, Stephen Lambert and Tim Harcourt.

The format for the series (Dutch title "De Verraders") was devised by IDTV and RTL.
