NETFLIX ACQUIRES RIGHTS TO EMILY GIFFIN'S BESTSELLER ALL WE EVER WANTED FOR SERIES ADAPTATION DEVELOPMENT
Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coben Team Up as Executive Producers on Their First-Ever TV Series Project Together
Netflix today announced it has acquired the rights to Emily Giffin's best-selling novel All We Ever Wanted. The book is now in development as a series adaptation with Hello Sunshine, Final Twist Productions, and Quay Street Productions set to produce. The project reunites Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coben, whose collaborative book Gone Before Goodbye debuted as an instant #1 New York Times Bestseller. Should the project move forward and get picked up as a new TV series, this would mark Reese Witherspoon's and Harlen Coben's first TV series together.
· Showrunner/Executive Producer/Writer: Jessica Goldberg (Away, The Path, Parenthood).
· Executive Producers: Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine, Harlan Coben for Final Twist Productions, and Nicola Shindler for Quay Street Productions
(an ITV Studios Company)
· Logline: A soapy and scandalous drama that uncovers the secrets and class struggles of a wealthy suburb; where a torrid love affair between a "have" Mom and "have-not" single Dad threatens to expose the sins and lies of all of those around them.
All We Ever Wanted is the latest collaboration between Hello Sunshine and Netflix, following From Scratch, Your Place or Mine, Get Organized with The Home Edit, F1: The Academy, and the upcoming Smother in Law. Netflix and Harlan Coben have a long-standing creative partnership, and have adapted more than 13 of his books for the screen, including Fool Me Once, which is Netflix's 10th Most Popular English-language series of all time. Next year, Netflix will release new Coben adaptations, including the limited series Run Away (premiering January 1, 2026) and the highly-anticipated thriller series I Will Find You. Previous hit series include Safe, The Woods, The Innocent, Gone for Good, Stay Close, Hold Tight, The Stranger, Missing You, Just One Look, and Caught.
