THINGS ARE ABOUT TO GET WILD WHEN "PRIMATE" STREAMS ON PARAMOUNT+ MARCH 25

March 16, 2026 - Paramount+ today revealed the post-theatrical premiere date for the creature feature horror film, PRIMATE, which will arrive on the service in the U.S. and Canada Wednesday, March 25.

· From director Johannes Roberts of 47 Meters Down and The Strangers: Prey at Night, PRIMATE is an adrenaline-fueled, terrifying ride packed with old-school thrills. The film, produced by acclaimed horror producer Walter Hamada (It, The Conjuring) via his exclusive first-look deal with Paramount Pictures, was released theatrically earlier this year and follows a group of friends' fight for survival after their pet chimpanzee, Ben, goes on a violent rampage, turning a tropical homecoming into a primal tale of horror and survival.

· The film features bone-chilling performances from Johnny Sequoyah (DEXTER: NEW BLOOD(R)), Jessica Alexander (The Beauty, The Little Mermaid) and Academy Award(R)-winning actor Troy Kotsur (CODA, Black Rabbit), as well as Victoria Wyant, Gia Hunter, Benjamin Cheng, Charlie Mann, Tienne Simon and Miguel Torres Umba

· Upon its debut, PRIMATE received rave reviews from an assortment of critics and currently holds a "Certified Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Benjamin Lee of The Guardian praised the film's director, declaring his work on the film as "his savviest and most ruthlessly efficient," adding that it exemplifies a "filmmaker finding his sweet spot." Furthermore, Dread Central praised the movie as "a masterfully made horror film" and "a disturbingly scary and frightfully fun" feature, adding "the more unhinged it gets, the more fun it is to watch."
