Bárbara Lennie and Carmen Machi to star in 'Brutal', Albert Pintó's new thriller
Netflix has today announced Brutal, its new film starring Bárbara Lennie (God's Crooked Lines, Bitter Christmas) and Carmen Machi (Honeymoon with My Mother, Celeste), directed by Albert Pintó (Money Heist, Barren Land). Filming of the new thriller is currently underway in Madrid.
Brutal is produced by MOD Producciones and will premiere globally on Netflix. The film is written by Jordi Vallejo, produced by Fernando Bovaira, with Urko Errazquin and Albert Pintó serving as executive producers, and cinematography by Xavi Giménez.
In 1999, six minors murdered a young boy and were never punished for their crime. 24 years later, a murder as brutal as inexplicable brings Inspector Álex Lazkano (Bárbara Lennie) to uncover a past that many would rather keep buried. Her investigation leads her to Ágata (Carmen Machi), a seemingly warm and kindly woman whose calm appearance may conceal something far darker on the inside. How long can the truth remain hidden? And how far would you go to make sure it never comes to light?
The cast of this intense thriller also includes Tristán Ulloa (A Widow's Game, The Asunta Case), Marta Nieto (Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine, La mitad de Ana), Luis Callejo (The Fury of a Patient Man, Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine), Javier Godino (Better Class, The Secret in Their Eyes) and Javier Beltrán (God's Crooked Lines, The Innocent), among others.
