CBS WINS TUESDAY IN VIEWERS AS "NCIS" SOARS TO RECORD HIGH RATINGS

"NCIS" Attracts More Than 16 Million Viewers For the First Time and Wins Its Time Period in Viewers and Key Demographics For the Third Consecutive Week

"The Amazing Race" Gains Viewers As the Families Travel From Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C. and Virginia

The Premiere of "Close to Home" Posts Double Digit Increases in Key Demographics Over "Judging Amy's" Premiere Last Season

CBS won Tuesday in viewers and placed second in adults 18-49 paced by NCIS which soared to record high ratings, according to preliminary Nielsen ratings for Oct. 4.

NCIS was first in households (10.6/17), viewers (16.34m), adults 25-54 (5.7/14) and adults 18-49 (4.3/12). These are all series high deliveries for NCIS. This is the first time the program broke the 16 million viewer mark. NCIS has now won its time period in viewers and key demographics for three consecutive weeks.

THE AMAZING RACE: FAMILY EDITION was second in households (7.2/11), viewers (11.40m), tied for second in adults 25-54 (5.1/11, with NBC), adults 18-34 (3.1/10, with ABC) and third in adults 18-49 (4.2/10) in its highly competitive time period. Compared to last week's 9-10PM portion of the two-hour premiere, THE AMAZING RACE was up +6% in households (from 6.8/10), +5% in viewers (from 10.81m) and retained 98% of the premiere's delivery in both adults 25-54 (from 5.2/11) and adults 18-49 (from 4.3/11) and 89% of adults 18-34 (from 3.5/09).

The series premiere of CLOSE TO HOME (7.2/11, 10.38m) averaged a 4.0/9 in adults 25-54 and 3.2/08 in adults 18-49. Compared to the "Judging Amy" 9/28/04 premiere, CLOSE TO HOME was up +28% in adults 18-49 (from 2.5/07) and +18% in adults 25-54 (from 3.4/08).

In primetime last night, CBS was first in households (8.3/13), viewers (12.71m), second in adults 18-49 (3.9/10) and tied for second in adults 25-54 (4.9/11, with ABC).

Final Tuesday ratings will be available this afternoon.

CBS won Tuesday in viewers and placed second in adults 18-49 paced by NCIS which soared to record high ratings, according to final national Nielsen ratings for Oct. 4.

NCIS was first in households (10.8/17), viewers (16.87m), adults 25-54 (5.9/15) and adults 18-49 (4.4/12). These are all series high deliveries for NCIS, shattering its previous high adult 18-49 rating by +0.5. This is the first time the program broke the 16 million viewer mark. NCIS has now won its time period in viewers and key demographics for three consecutive weeks.

THE AMAZING RACE: FAMILY EDITION was second in viewers (11.25m) and tied for second in households (7.1/11, with NBC). Compared to last week's two-hour premiere, THE AMAZING RACE was up +8% in households (7.1/11 from 6.6/10), +5% in viewers (11.25 from 10.64m) and retained 98% of the premiere's delivery in both adults 25-54 (5.1/11 from 5.2/11) and adults 18-49 (4.3/10 from 4.4/11).

The series premiere of CLOSE TO HOME (7.2/11, 10.43m) averaged a 4.0/09 in adults 25-54 and 3.3/08 in adults 18-49. Compared to the "Judging Amy" 9/28/04 premiere, CLOSE TO HOME was up +32% in adults 18-49 (from 2.5/07) and +18% in adults 25-54 (from 3.4/08). CLOSE TO HOME dropped the time period's median age from the "Judging Amy" premiere by four full years (52.4 from 56.4 years).

In primetime last night, CBS was first in households (8.4/13), viewers (12.85m), second in adults 18-49 (4.0/10) and adults 25-54 (5.0/12).
