AMERICA'S FAVORITE MOONLIGHTING PLUMBERS RETURN FOR HALLOWEEN SPECIAL AND NINE ADDITIONAL EPISODES OF THE HIT SERIES

NEW YORK, NY--October 20, 2005--The second season of SCI FI Channel's hit alternative reality series 'Ghost Hunters' wrapped-up last night with series records in both ratings and delivery. The finale episode, which investigated a string of spine-chilling paranormal occurrences in the town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, nearly doubled ratings and delivery for the season one finale last December (12/15/04):

--1.7 HH rating, +70% in HH rating vs. season one finale

--Over 2.3 million viewers P2+, +90% in P2 vs. season one finale

--Over 1.4 million viewers for both P18-49 and P25-54, +94% in P18-49s and +91% in P25-54s vs. season one finale

--#1 program of the day in cable in P25-54s, besting a new episode of Comedy Central's 'South Park,' and #2 in P18-49s

--SCI FI was the #1 cable network in the 9 PM-10 PM time period in both P18-49s and P25-54s.

--'Ghost Hunters' scored more viewers P18-49s and P25-54s than the WB's 'Related' at 9pm

Airing in the same time period as the network hit 'Lost,' 'Ghost Hunters' managed to grow its audience considerably. This season's final five episodes, all airing against the ABC powerhouse averaged:

--1.3 HH rating, +18% vs. the average rating for the first 8 episodes of the season

--1.6 million viewers P2+, +17% vs. the average rating for the first 8 episodes of the season

--1 million viewers P18-49s, +22% vs. the average rating for the first 8 episodes of the season

The 13-episode, second season of 'Ghost Hunters' kicked off on July 27 and has averaged 1.5 million viewers P2+ (+13% vs. season one average) and 1.1 HH rating, since that debut. Recognizing the continued success of the spectral series, SCI FI Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Mark Stern, recently announced a pickup order for nine additional episodes and a Halloween special. The nine new episodes will premiere on SCI FI in January 2006, while the all-new 'Ghost Hunters Halloween Special,' with eye-popping investigations in Savannah, Georgia, "America's most-haunted city," will air October 31 @10 PM ET/PT.

Last fall, SCI FI introduced Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson--plumbers by day, 'Ghost Hunters' by night! Hawes and Wilson head up TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society), a close-knit organization of volunteer paranormal researchers, ordinary people who investigate and attempt to solve some rather personal mysteries, free of charge. A one-hour weekly alternative reality series, 'Ghost Hunters' follows this group of real-life "ghostbusters" as they investigate hauntings throughout the country. Using the finest technology available including video, temperature analysis and digital audio equipment, the TAPS crew spends their own time and money bringing peace of mind to those who claim to be experiencing supernatural oddities.
