"The New Adventures of Old Christine" Is The Season's Number One Comedy, Premiering With the Time Period's Best Delivery in Viewers

"The Unit" Remains The Number One New Series of the Season As the Second Broadcast Retains Nearly All of Its Premiere Audience

"NCIS" Matches Its Best Adult 18-49 and Adult 25-54 Ratings

"The Amazing Race 9" Places First in Key Demos For the Third Straight Week

CBS got a major boost from two of its mid-season series, the premiere of THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE and the second episode of THE UNIT as well as solid performances from CBS Sports' coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, pacing the Network to a first place finish in viewers and second in key demographics, according to Nielsen ratings for the week ending March 19, week 26 of the 2005-2006 television season.

For the week in viewers, CBS (12.22m) finished ahead of FOX (11.64m), ABC (9.35m) and NBC (9.05m). Season-to-date in viewers, CBS (12.68m) leads, followed by ABC (11.43m), NBC (9.98m) and FOX (9.68m).

For the week in households, CBS (7.9/13) was +13% ahead of FOX (7.0/11) and +32% ahead of both NBC and ABC (6.0/10, each). Season-to-date, CBS is first in households (8.2/13), outpacing ABC by +14% (7.2/12), NBC by +26% (6.5/10)and FOX by +37% (6.0/09).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and adults 18-49 (3.9/11) even with time period winning dramas CSI, WITHOUT A TRACE, GHOST WHISPERER and NUM3BERS as well as SURVIVIOR being preempted on Thursday and Friday due to basketball. Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (3.9/10, with FOX).

The premiere of THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE was first in households (9.7/15), viewers (15.09m), second in adults 25-54 (6.0/13) and adults 18-49 (4.8/11). This is the time period's best delivery this season in viewers and best delivery in both adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 since 1/23/06 (the series premiere of COURTING ALEX). THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE retained 88% of its TWO AND A HALF MEN adults 25-54 lead-in and 91% of its adults 18-49 lead-in, the best premiere retention of the three sitcoms that premiered in this time slot.

� THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE PREVIEW (S) was second in households (7.9/12), viewers (12.36m) and adults 25-54 (4.8/11). This is the time period's best delivery this season in viewers and the best delivery in both adults 18-49 (3.8/10) and adults 25-54 since 2/6/06. The preview of THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE built on its THE KING OF QUEENS lead-in by +10% in households, +7% in adults 25-54, +6% in adults 18-49 and added over 1 million viewers (+1.06m).

� TWO AND A HALF MEN won its time period in households (10.8/16), viewers (17.37m), adults 25-54 (6.8/15) and second in adults 18-49 (5.3/13, -0.3 behind FOX).

� CSI: MIAMI won its time period in households (12.3/20), viewers (19.01m), adults 25-54 (7.7/18) and adults 18-49 (6.3/16).

� NCIS was second in households (11.1/17), viewers (17.55m), adults 25-54 (6.1/14) and adults 18-49 (4.4/11). This is NCIS's best households and viewer delivery since 1/17/06 and matches the best adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 delivery to date.

� The second broadcast of THE UNIT was second in households (11.0/16), viewers (18.07m), adults 25-54 (6.7/14) and adults 18-49 (4.9/11). Compared to last week's premiere, THE UNIT retained 95% of its households (from 11.6/17), 98% of its viewers (from 18.50m), 96% of both its adults 25-54 (from 7.0/13) and adults 18-49 (from 5.1/12). THE UNIT built on its NCIS lead by +3% in viewers, +11% in adults 18-49 and +10% in adults 25-54.

� THE AMAZING RACE 9 (6.1/10, 9.67m) won its time period in adults 25-54 (4.8/11) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (4.0/10, with NBC). Compared to last week, THE AMAZING RACE was up +2% in both viewers (from 9.45m) and adults 25-54 (from 4.7/12), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 3.8/10) and +19% in adults 18-34 (from 2.6/08).

� CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP EVENING THURSDAY 1 (S) (7:00PM-10:09PM) posted a 6.4/11 in households with 9.37m viewers. CBS scored a 3.8/11 in adults 25-54, 5.2/15 in men 25-54, 3.3/10 in adults 18-49, 4.6/15 in men 18-49, 2.9/10 in adults 18-34 and 4.1/15 in men 18-34. CBS was first in men 25-54, men 18-49 and men 18-34, second in households, viewers, tied for second in both adults 25-54 (with NBC) and adults 18-49 (with NBC).
