HALLMARK CHANNEL DELIVERS ITS HIGHEST-RATED MAY EVER
Network Ranks in Top 10 in Total Day Among Households and Key Demo
Ratings With a #9 Ranking Among Women 25-54 and #9 Among Adults 25-54
Hallmark Channel has just earned its highest-rated May ever among Total Day
and Prime Time household delivery, and ranks among the Top 10 ad-supported cable
networks in Total Day HH and key demo ratings, with a #9 ranking among Women 25-
54 and a #9 ranking among Adults 25-54.
Hallmark Channel continues to experience significant ratings growth year over
year. From May 05 to May 06, Hallmark Channel increased .3 rating points in Prime
Time household ratings. The increase was second only to ESPN and the 2nd largest
increase of all 65 ad-supported cable networks due in large part to its Original movies
and popular acquisitions, including Walker, Texas Ranger.
Were delighted and a little surprised with our May ratings success and our
yearly growth, said David Kenin, Executive Vice President, Programming, Hallmark
Channel. Historically, most cable networks take a back seat to broadcast and suffer
ratings drop-off in May. But this time we held our own. Were in the game and were
here to win.
The premiere of Hallmark Channels Original movie, Where Theres A Will,
starring Marion Ross and Frank Whaley, Saturday, May 6 (9-11 p.m., ET/PT), was the
networks highest-rated program ever in May delivering a 2.2 HH rating and 1.6 million
homes. The movie was seen by over 3 million unduplicated viewers P2+, and was the
highest-rated ad-supported cable movie of the day. Where Theres a Will also ranked
in the Top 10 for the time period in HH and key demo ratings and delivery.
Hallmark Channels May 2006 ratings highlights include:
In Total Day, #10 ranking in HH (.7 rating), #9 ranking in W25-54, #9 in
A25-54 and #10 in P2+.
In Prime Time, #11 ranking in HH (1.1 rating)
Hallmark Channel was one of only 10 networks to show year-to-year growth
in Total Day HH rating, increasing +17%.
In Prime Time delivery growth, the network increased +51% in households,
+21% in A18-49, +33% in A25-54 and +56% in P2+.
