CBS PLACES FIRST IN VIEWERS FOR THE SIXTH CONSECUTIVE WEEK OF THE SUMMER SEASON AND FIRST IN ADULTS 25-54

CBS Has Five of the Top Programs of the Week in Viewers and Adults 25-54

The Premiere of "Big Brother: All-Stars" Is a Time Period Winner, Placing in the Top 10 Programs for the Week in Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54

The 90-Minute Wednesday Premiere of "Rock Star: Supernova" Builds in Each Half-Hour in Viewers and Key Demos While a Special Thursday Edition Improves Upon Its Premiere

In a week that included the Fourth of July holiday, CBS placed first in viewers for the sixth consecutive week of the summer season and first in adults 25-54 (tie), according to live plus same day Nielsen ratings for the week ending July 9, week six of the 2006 summer season.

The week was highlighted by the premiere of BIG BROTHER: ALL STARS which won its time period in viewers and key demos, placing in the top 10 among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the week. The 90-minute Wednesday debut of ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA grew in each half-hour in viewers and key demos. A special Thursday edition of ROCK STAR improved upon its premiere ratings.

For the week in viewers, CBS (6.50m) topped NBC (6.02m), FOX (5.11m) and ABC (4.79m). Summer-to-date in viewers, CBS (7.75m) leads NBC (6.33m), FOX (5.85m) and ABC (5.55m).

For the week in households, CBS (4.4/08) was +7% ahead of NBC (4.1/08) and +33% ahead of both ABC and FOX (3.3/06, each). Summer-to-date in households, CBS (5.3/10) leads NBC (4.2/08) by +26%, FOX (3.8/07) by +39% and ABC (3.7/07) by +43%.

For the week in key demographics, CBS was tied for first in adults 25-54 (2.2/07, with NBC) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (1.8/06, with NBC and -0.2 behind FOX). Summer-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (2.6/08) and third in adults 18-49 (2.1/07, -0.1 behind NBC and -0.3 behind FOX).

? ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA (P) (8:00-9:31PM) posted a 3.4/06 in households, 5.30m viewers, 2.5/07 in adults 25-54, 2.2/07 in adults 18-49 and 1.7/06 in adults 18-34. ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA grew in every half-hour in viewers and key demos:

? BIG BROTHER 7: ALL-STARS THURSDAY (P) was first in households (4.8/09), viewers (7.54m), adults 25-54 (3.2/10), adults 18-49 (2.8/10) and adults 18-34 (2.3/09).

? ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA SPECIAL (S) (3.9/07, 6.02m) was second in adults 25-54 (3.0/08), adults 18-49 (2.7/08), adults 18-34 (2.0/07) and third in households (3.9/07) and viewers (6.02m). Compared to Wednesday's premiere, this special presentation was up +15% in households, +20% in adults 25-54, +23% in adults 18-49 and +18% in adults 18-34.

? BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS (S) was second in households (4.4/09), viewers (6.96m), adults 25-54 (2.1/07) and adults 18-49 (1.7/06).

? 60 MINUTES (R) was first in households (6.1/12), viewers (9.11m) and tied for first in adults 25-54 (2.1/07, with ABC). 60 MINUTES was the night's #1 program in households and viewers.
