'AMERICA'S GOT TALENT' AND 'SINGING BEE' TOP NBC'S WEEK OF AUGUST 13-19

'TALENT' RANKS #6 AMONG ALL BROADCAST PROGRAMS IN ADULTS 18-49 AND IS THE #1 BROADCAST NETWORK SHOW OF THE WEEK IN TOTAL VIEWERS

'SINGING BEE' RANKS IN THE WEEK'S TOP FIVE IN ADULTS 18-49, TOTAL VIEWERS AND OTHER KEY MEASURES

BURBANK, Calif. � August 21, 2007 � Led by "America's Got Talent" and "The Singing Bee," NBC averaged a 1.7 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers overall for the week of August 13-19, according to "live plus same day" in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC's "America's Got Talent" was the #6-ranked broadcast network program of the week in adults 18-49 and the #1 network show in overall total viewers. Tuesday's telecast of "The Singing Bee" was the #4 show of the week in adults 18-49 (tie) and #3 in total viewers. Among adults 25-54, "Talent" and "Bee" were tied at #3.

Primetime averages for the week of August 13-19 in adults 18-49 were Fox (2.3/8), CBS (1.9/6), NBC (1.7/5), ABC (1.5/5), Univision (1.3/4), CW (0.6/2) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (6.7 million), Fox (6.0 million), NBC (5.3 million), ABC (4.4 million), Univision (2.9 million), CW (1.8 million) and Telemundo (0.9 million).

In regular program averages through 48 weeks of the 2006-07 broadcast year, NBC is running within a tenth of a point of last year's average in adult 18-49 rating (2.9 vs. 3.0). Fox is also down a tenth of a point versus last year in regular program averages (a 3.7 vs. a 3.8), ABC is down 6 percent (from a 3.3 at this point last year to a 3.1) and CBS is down 9 percent (from a 3.4 to a 3.1).

NBC highlights for the week of August 13-19:

* On Tuesday, "America's Got Talent" ranked #1 in its time period by all key measures including adults 18-49 and total viewers. "Talent" was the #1 show on television Tuesday in total viewers.

* "Talent" grew by 26 percent in 18-49 and 24 percent in total viewers from its first to its third half-hour, and was up 94 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's performance in the slot on the same night last year.

* Also on Tuesday, "The Singing Bee" was up 10 percent in 18-49 versus the prior week and tied for both the #1 18-49 rating in the time period and the #1 18-49 rating for Tuesday night.

* NBC won Tuesday night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, marking the 11th Tuesday in a row that NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1.

* On Wednesday, "Dateline NBC" ranked #1 in its time period in adults 18-49 (tied) and adults 18-34, marking the sixth Wednesday "Dateline" telecast in a row to rank #1 or tied for #1 in adults 18-49.

* Also on Wednesday, "Last Comic Standing" ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and #1 among men 18-49 (tied) and men 18-34.

* On Sunday, NBC Sports coverage of the New York Giants-Baltimore Ravens pre-season NFL game was up 32 percent in adults 18-49 and 19 percent in overall total viewers versus the prior week's pre-season telecast. NBC tied for first place on Sunday night in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 outright among men 18-49 and 25-54.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of August 13-19:

On Monday, Aug. 13 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Thank God You're Here" averaged a 1.4 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Heroes" delivered a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., "Dateline NBC" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures.

On Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 8-9:30 p.m. ET, "America's Got Talent" (3.1/10 in 18-49, 10.8 million viewers overall) was #1 in its time period by all key measures, including adults 18-49 and total viewers. "Talent" was the #1 show of the night on any network in total viewers. From its first half-hour to its third, "Talent" increased by 26 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.4/10 from a 2.7/10) and by 24 percent, or more than 2.3 million persons, in overall total viewers (to 11.9 million from 9.6 million). "Talent" was up 94 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's results in this slot on the same night last year (3.1/10 vs. 1.6/5).

Tuesday from 9:30-10 p.m. ET, "The Singing Bee" (3.2/9 in 18-49, 9.7 million viewers overall) tied for both the #1 18-49 rating in the time period and the #1 18-49 rating for the night (with CBS' "Big Brother," also a 3.2). "Singing Bee" was up 10 percent versus the prior week in 18-49 (3.2/9 vs. 2.9/8). "Bee" was up 7 percent week-to-week in total viewers (9.7 million vs. 9.1 million)

Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.2/7 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in its time period in adults 18-34, 18-49, 25-54 and total viewers. "SVU" increased by 16 percent week-to-week in 18-49 rating, locking up its highest result in the demo in four weeks.

NBC won Tuesday night in adults 18-49 and all other key demographic measures, as well as in total viewers. NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 for the last 11 Tuesdays in a row.

On Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 9 p.m. ET, "Last Comic Standing" (2.5/7 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and #1 among men 18-34 and men 18-49 (tied). "Last Comic" built by 32 percent in 18-49 rating on its lead-in from the previous hour � a 1.9/7 in 18-49 and 6.0 million viewers overall for an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous Moments" from 8-9 p.m.

Wednesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (2.2/7 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in the hour in adults 18-49 (tied) and adults 18-34. This was the sixth Wednesday "Dateline" telecast in a row to rank #1 or tied for #1 in adults 18-49 in this slot.

At 8 p.m. ET Thursday, Aug. 16, an encore telecast of "My Name is Earl" delivered a 1.6/6 in 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers overall. At 8:30 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "30 Rock" delivered a 1.3/4 in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall.

At 9 p.m. ET Thursday, a rebroadcast of "The Office" (1.8/6 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall) built on its 18-49 lead-in by 38 percent. "The Office" ranked #2 in the time period among adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49. From 9:31-10:01 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Scrubs" (1.6/4 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49.

Thursday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, an encore "ER" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall) delivered its highest results of the summer to date, up 40 percent in adults 18-49 and 24 percent in total viewers versus the prior week. "ER" tied for #1 among adults 18-34 and ranked #1 outright among men 18-34.

On Friday, Aug. 17 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "1 vs 100" (1.3/5 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall) tied for the #1 in adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 and ranked #1 outright among women 18-34. At 9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Las Vegas" averaged a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" averaged a 1.1/4 in 18-49 and 4.0 million viewers overall.

On Saturday, Aug. 18 from 8-9 p.m. ET, the "2007 U.S. Gymnastics Championships" averaged a 0.7/3 in 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall. From 9-9:30 p.m., an encore telecast of "The Singing Bee" delivered a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers overall. From 9:30-11 p.m., a rebroadcast of "America's Got Talent" averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall). From its first to its third half-hour, "Talent" built by 38 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1/4 from a 0.8/3) and by 45 percent in total viewers (to 4.1 million from 2.8 million) to rank #1 by both measures from 10:30-11 p.m.

On Sunday, Aug. 19 from 7-8 p.m. ET, the "2007 U.S. Gymnastic Championships" averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 4.0 million viewers overall.

Sunday from 8:08-11 p.m. ET, NBC Sports coverage of the New York Giants-Baltimore Ravens NFL pre-season game averaged a 2.5/7 in 18-49, 7.1 million viewers overall and a 4.8/8 in households. The pre-kickoff telecast from 8-8:08 p.m. averaged a 1.8/6 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall and a 3.9/7 in households.

This week's Giants-Ravens pre-season game was up 32 percent in adults 18-49 (2.5/7 vs. 1.9/6) and up 19 percent in total viewers (7.1 million vs. 6.0 million) versus the prior week's pre-season NFL telecast (Seattle Seahawks vs. San Diego Chargers on August 12). The August 19 game scored NBC's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in the time period since May 6.

NBC tied for the nightlong victory on Sunday night in adults 18-49 and won the night outright among men 18-49 and 25-54.
