The series debut of ABC's "Samantha Who?" stood as TV's No. 1 new comedy premiere of the season in both Total Viewers (14.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (4.5/10), as well as the most-watched new series premiere overall. Furthermore, "Samantha Who?" qualifies as the most-watched comedy telecast on any network on any night in 7 months (since 3/28/07 with Fox's telecast of "Til Death"). The comedy led its half-hour among Total Viewers and across each of the key Women demographics: Women 18-34 (5.2/12), Women 18-49 (6.9/15) and Women 25-54 (7.9/16).

"The Bachelor" hit season highs in Adults 25-54 (3.9/9-tie), Women 18-49 (5.3/13) and Women 25-54 (6.0/14).
A note about increasing DVR penetration and year to year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating trends based on the Live + Same Day data stream may be somewhat distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has more than doubled from 9% at the same point in 2006 up to 20% currently. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. Therefore, the only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
