Weekly Runs of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Continue To Impress
Universal City, CA Oct 30, 2007 --NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" posted its strongest weekly ratings since debuting in off-network broadcast syndication this fall.
And "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," which also made its off-network syndication debut this fall as a weekly series, continued its strong freshman run during the most recent week in the national ratings.
"Law & Order: Criminal Intent," which is the first of the "Law & Order" series to air as a strip in broadcast syndication, rose 7% to a 1.5 HH, its best full week rating yet, according to Nielsen Media Research for the week of October 15, 2007.
The series also attracted a season-high 2 million viewers for the week, up 10% from the previous week and matched its season high ratings in both Women 18-49 (.9) and Women 25-54 (.9).
"Law & Order: CI" is also delivering strong local ratings, building 20% from its lead-in with Women 25-54 in the 13 LPM markets. And it's improving time periods in New York +10%, Los Angeles +50%, and Chicago +125% with Women 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research data for Oct 4-24.
"Law & Order: SVU" continued its strong weekly run, matching its season high in Men 25-54 (1.2), while averaging a 2.2 HH rating for the third straight week. "SVU" was also up 25% in Women 18-34 from the previous week.
For the season, "Law & Order: SVU" continues to be the #2 new weekly off-network syndicated series in (2.2) households, topping "Without a Trace" (2.1 HH) and fellow newcomer "Cold Case" (2.1 HH). Season-to-date "SVU" is averaging 3.1 million viewers to "Without a Trace" and "Cold Case's" 2.8 million.
