BURBANK, Calif. � December 27, 2007 � Paced by the #1 and #2-ranked programs of the week in adults 18-49 � "NBC Sunday Night Football" and the finale of "The Biggest Loser" � and with solid numbers from four consecutive nights of "Clash of the Choirs," NBC won the week of December 17-23 in adults 18-49, averaging a 2.5 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49 and 7.5 million viewers overall, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

In addition to its weekly win in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49, NBC also ranked #1 for the week in adults, men and women 18-34, men and women 18-49, adults 25-54 (tied with CBS) and men 25-54.

"NBC Sunday Night Football, " featuring the Washington Redskins versus the Minnesota Vikings, was the #1 program of the week among adults 18-49 (5.0/15), adults 25-54 (5.8/15), total viewers (14.1 million) and all key adult-male demographics � men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54. On a season-to-date basis, "NBC Sunday Night Football" is the #1 program on television among men 18-49 and men 25-54 and ranks #6 among all primetime network programs in adults 18-49.

Tuesday's two-hour finale of "The Biggest Loser 4" was the #2 program of the week in adults 18-49 (4.6/13) and adults 25-54 (5.1/13) and ranked #1 among all programs in adults 18-34 (4.0/12) and all key adult-female demographics � women 18-34, women 18-49 and women 25-54. In overall total viewers, "Biggest Loser" (11.4 million) ranked #6 among all programs this week.

Through the first 13 weeks of the 2007-08 season, NBC's median age has grown 1.2 years younger, moving to 45.9 years this season from 47.1 years at this point last season. In this same comparison, ABC's median age has increased by 2.2 years (to 49.1 from 46.9) and CBS's median age has increased to 52.5 years from 51.9 at this point last season. Fox's median age has declined slightly from 44.8 years to 44.6 years, reflecting in part fewer hours of baseball on Fox's primetime schedule this season versus last.

Primetime averages for the week of December 17-23 in adults 18-49 were NBC (2.5/8), CBS (2.3/7), Fox (1.9/6), ABC (1.7/5), Univision (1.3/4), CW (0.7/2) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (8.6 million), NBC (7.5 million), ABC (5.9 million), Fox (5.6 million), Univision (3.1 million), CW (2.0 million) and Telemundo (1.0 million).

NBC highlights for the week of December 17-23:

* The "NBC's Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Washington Redskins versus the Minnesota Vikings propelled NBC to a Sunday night win in every key ratings demographic � adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 � as well as in total viewers.

* On Monday, the debut of "Clash of the Choirs" ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and total viewers and #1 among adults 18-34. Night one of "Clash of the Choirs" topped the competing debut of ABC's "Duel" in adults 18-49, total viewers, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key measures.

* On Tuesday, the finale of "The Biggest Loser 4" and night two of "Clash of the Choirs" propelled NBC to a Tuesday win in adults 18-49, marking the third consecutive Tuesday in which NBC finished #1 or tied for #1.

* Tuesday's two-hour finale of "Biggest Loser" was the #1 show of the night on any network in adults 18-49, and dominated its time period, winning by every key ratings measure � adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49, 25-54 and total viewers.

* Tuesday's "Biggest Loser" finale delivered the heftiest results of its current run by all key measures. In adults 18-49, "Loser" scored NBC's highest rating in the time period in nearly a year.

* Also on Tuesday, night two of "Clash of the Choirs" continued to outscore ABC's competing "Duel" by various key measures, including adults 18-49 and total viewers.

* On Wednesday, night three of "Clash of the Choirs" topped ABC's "Duel" in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, total viewers and other measures in head-to-head competition. Wednesday's "Clash" matched the 18-49 rating of its previous two nights and delivered its highest tally in total viewers.

* On Thursday, the final night of the four-night run of "Clash of the Choirs" grew by 32 percent in 18-49 rating and 20 percent in total viewers from its first to its climactic final half-hour. And, for the fourth consecutive night, "Clash of the Choirs" delivered bigger audiences than ABC's competing "Duel" in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures in both head-to-head competition and full-duration program ratings.

* Also on Thursday, a rebroadcast of "The Office" ranked #2 in its time slot in adults 18-49 and #1 in adults 18-34, topping encore telecasts of ABC's "Private Practice" and CBS's "Without a Trace" in the latter demo.

* On Friday, a two-hour "Dateline NBC" ranked #1 in its time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures. "Dateline" was the top-rated show Friday night on any network in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

On Monday, Dec. 17 from 8-10 p.m. ET, the debut of "Clash of the Choirs" (2.4 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49, 8.0 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and total viewers and #1 in adults 18-34. From its first to its fourth half-hour, "Clash of the Choirs" built by 17 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.7/7 from a 2.3/7) and by 1.1 million persons, or 15 percent, in total viewers (to 8.8 million from 7.7 million).

In head-to-head competition from 8-9:30 p.m. ET, "Clash of the Choirs" topped the competing debut of ABC's "Duel" in adults 18-49 (2.4 for "Choir" vs. a 2.1 for "Duel"), total viewers (7.7 million vs. 6.7 million), adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and all key adult-female demographics.

At 10 p.m. ET, "Journeyman" (1.5/4 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall) tied for #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and ranked #2 outright in total viewers.

On Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 8-9 p.m. ET, night two of "Clash of the Choirs" (2.4/7 in 18-49, 7.8 million viewers overall) finished within 1 share of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 among adults 18-34 (tie), women 18-49 and women 18-34.

"Clash of the Choirs" topped night two of ABC's "Duel" in full-duration adult 18-49 ratings (2.4/7 versus 2.3/7) and "Clash" opened up a 0.3-rating-point advantage over "Duel" head-to-head during the 8:30-9 p.m. half-hour (2.7/8 for "Clash" vs. 2.4/7 for "Duel"). Also in full-duration results, "Clash" outscored "Duel" in total viewers (7.8 million vs. 7.2 million) and all key adult-female demographics Night two of "Clash of the Choirs" matched its 18-49 program rating from the previous night and built by 4 percent versus Monday night's comparable 8-9 p.m. hour (2.4/7 vs. 2.3/7). In total viewers, "Clash of the Choirs" grew 5 percent versus Monday's 8-9 p.m. audience of 7.4 million. From its first to its second half-hour, "Clash of the Choirs" built by 23 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.7/8 from a 2.2/7), the most growth of any major network in the time period. Tuesday from 9-11 p.m. ET, the finale of "The Biggest Loser 4" (4.6 rating, 13 share in adults 18-49, 11.4 million viewers overall) dominated its two-hour time period with NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the slot in nearly a year (since January 2). In total viewers, it was NBC's biggest overall audience in the time period in nearly four months (since August 21).

"The Biggest Loser" was the night's #1 telecast on any network in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 for its time period in every key ratings category � adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, and in total viewers. In the climactic 10-11 p.m. hour, "Loser" beat the ABC-CBS competition combined in adults 18-49, as well as in adults, men and women 18-34 and other measures.

"The Biggest Loser" delivered the heftiest results of its current cycle, topping its previous highs, set one week earlier, by 28 percent in 18-49 rating (4.6/13 vs. 3.6/9) and by 16 percent, or 1.6 million persons, in total viewers (11.4 million vs. 9.8 million). The "Loser" finale gained 48 percent in 18-49 rating versus the show's prior average this season (4.6 vs. 3.1). "The Biggest Loser 4" finale was also up 35 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's 2006-07 season average for the Tuesday 9-11 p.m. slot (4.6 vs. 3.4).

NBC won Tuesday night in adults 18-49, marking the third consecutive Tuesday that NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 in adults 18-49.

On Wednesday, Dec. 19 from 8-10 p.m. ET, night three of "Clash of the Choirs" (2.4/7 in 18-49, 8.3 million viewers overall) maintained its 18-49 rating of the previous two nights while delivering its highest total viewer tally to date. For the full two hours, "Clash" finished within 0.2 of a rating point of the time-period win in adults 18-49, while ranking #1 in adults 18-34. Wednesday's "Clash of the Choirs" ranked #1 in the 8 p.m. hour in adults and women 18-49. In head-to-head competition from 8-9 p.m., "Clash" topped ABC's competing "Duel" in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, total viewers and all key adult female demographics.

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, a special telecast of "Journeyman (1.7/5 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and all key measures.

On Thursday, Dec. 20 from 8-10 p.m. ET, night four of "Clash of the Choirs" (2.3/7 in 18-49, 8.1 million viewers overall) finished within 0.2 of a rating point of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and won its slot among women 18-49 and women 18-34. From its first to its climactic fourth half-hour, "Clash of the Choirs" increased by 32 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.5/7 from a 1.9/6) and by 20 percent in total viewers (to 8.5 million from 7.1 million).

For the fourth consecutive night, "Clash of the Choirs" on Thursday delivered larger audiences than ABC's competing "Duel" in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures in both head-to-head competition and in full-duration program ratings.

Thursday from 10-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Office" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49. "The Office" ranked #1 in adults 18-34, topping encore telecasts of ABC's "Private Practice" and CBS's "Without a Trace" in that demographic measure.

Through its four nights, "Clash of the Choirs" averaged a 2.4/7 in adults 18-49 and 8.1 million viewers overall. "Clash" was a strong #2 in its time periods on average over its four nights in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 among adults 18-34 (tie), women 18-34 and women 18-49.

On Friday, Dec. 21 at 8 p.m. ET, "The Singing Bee" averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.2 million viewers overall. From 8:30-9 p.m., a second episode of "the Singing Bee" delivered a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 3.2 million viewers overall.

Friday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in its time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures. "Dateline" was Friday night's top-rated show on any network in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. From its first to its fourth half-hour, "Dateline" increased by 24 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.1/7 from a 1.7/6) and by 16 percent in total viewers (to 7.0 million from 6.1 million).

On Saturday, Dec. 22 from 8-9:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live: Best of 2006-07" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 2.6 million viewers overall) increased by 43 percent in adult 18-49 rating from its first to its third half-hour (to a 1.0/3 from a 0.7/2).

Saturday from 9:30-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live Goes Commercial" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 3.7 million viewers overall) grew by 42 percent in adult 18-49 rating from its first to its final half-hour (to a 1.7/5 from a 1.2/4). The "SNL" special won the 10-11 p.m. hour in adults 18-49 and other key demographics.

On Sunday, Dec. 23, "NBC Sunday Night Football," featuring the Washington Redskins at the Minnesota Vikings, averaged a 5.0/15 in adults 18-49, 14.1 million viewers overall and an 8.7/16 household rating and share from 8:24-11:11 p.m. ET, winning the time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key ratings categories.

For the night (from 7:30-11 p.m.), NBC ranked #1 in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key ratings measures, averaging a 4.4/13 in adults 18-49 and 12.2 million viewers overall. In adults 18-49, NBC posted a 69 percent advantage in primetime over its nearest competitor (4.4 vs. a 2.6 for CBS). In total viewers, NBC's margin of victory in Sunday primetime was 35 percent, or more than 3.1 million persons (12.231 million vs. 9.066 million for CBS).

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:57 p.m. ET averaged a 2.0/7 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall and a 3.6 rating, 7 share in households. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:57-8:15 p.m. delivered a 2.8/9 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall and a 4.7/9 in households. From 8:15-8:24 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 3.6/11 in 18-49, 9.7 million viewers overall and a 6.2/12 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.
