"60 MINUTES" MAKES THE TOP 10 FOR THE SEVENTH TIME IN EIGHT BROADCASTS
60 MINUTES finished among Nielsen's Top 10 programs again, ranking 10th in viewers and eighth in households. It was the seventh time in eight broadcasts that the news magazine made the top 10.
Sunday's (10) broadcast won its time period in both households (8.6/14) and viewers (13.06m).
The program featured timely interviews with presidential contenders after the Super Tuesday primaries left them in a virtual dead heat for the Democratic nomination. Steve Kroft interviewed Sen. Barack Obama and Katie Couric interviewed Sen. Hillary Clinton. In the third segment, Morley Safer reported on the dilemma faced by the U.S. Mint because metals used to produce pennies and nickels are worth more than the coins' face values.
