Critically Acclaimed Lifetime Original Movie 'The Memory Keeper's Daughter' Becomes Network's Most-Watched Original Movie Since 1995 Delivering 4.5 Million Homes and 4.5 Million W18+
Starring Dermot Mulroney, Emily Watson and Gretchen Mol, Movie Also Pulls
in 1.7 Million W18-49 and 2.0 Million W25-54
NEW YORK, April 14 -- The critically acclaimed Lifetime
Original Movie "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" became Lifetime's
most-watched movie since 1995 when the April 12 premiere delivered 4.5
million homes and 4.5 million W18+. The movie also drew huge numbers among
all of Lifetime's key women demos, averaging 474,000 W18-34 (1.68 rating),
1.7 million W18-49 (2.96 rating) and 2.0 million W25-54 (3.68 rating).
"The Memory Keeper's Daughter," which starred Dermot Mulroney, Emily
Watson and Gretchen Mol, scored 5.8 million P2+ and is 2008's highest-rated
original movie on ad-supported cable among P2+, HH rating, W18-49 and
W25-54.
Lifetime's 1995 "Almost Golden" delivered 5.0 million homes and 4.9
million women.
In addition to Kim Edwards's runaway best-seller "The Memory Keeper's
Daughter," other books previously adapted into popular movies by Lifetime
include four titles from Nora Roberts including "Nora Roberts' Angels Fall"
with Heather Locklear and "Nora Roberts' Montana Sky" with John Corbett;
Jodi Picoult's "The Pact" and "Plain Truth"; Joyce Carol Oates' "We Were
the Mulvaneys"; Luanne Rice's "Beach Girls"; and Sue Monk Kidd's "The
Mermaid Chair," with two novels by Patricia Cornwell in development -- the
first time her books have ever been adapted for television.
"The Memory Keeper's Daughter" was produced by Jaffe/Braunstein Films
in association with Sony Pictures Television for Lifetime Television.
Howard Braunstein and Michael Jaffe (Lifetime's "Odd Girl Out," "Elvis")
served as executive producers. Mick Jackson ("Tuesdays with Morrie")
directed from a teleplay by John Pielmeier ("Hitler: The Rise of Evil").
