September 30, 2008 (Burbank, CA) - Against last week's competitive premieres, The CW's primetime line-up scored the largest year-to-year gains in key demos than any other network in its target demo of women 18-34 (+20%, 1.8/5), for the week ending Oct. 5, 2008.

Through five weeks of original episodes, The CW has scored tremendous year-to-year growth on two key nights of programming, Monday and Tuesday, especially with women 18-34. Since premiering on Sept. 1, GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL have improved The CW's Monday by 157% in women 18-34 (3.6/10) and 90210 and PRIVILEGED have improved Tuesday by 45% in women 18-34 (2.9/8) compared to a year ago.

The CW is off to a hot start to this new season compared to its fall launch a year ago. Focusing on the target demographic of women 18-34, The CW is up 25% in women 18-34 (2.0/6) through five weeks of its new season which began on 9/1/08 compared to the first five weeks of its new season a year ago (9/17/07-10/21/07).

GOSSIP GIRL (4.1/11) and ONE TREE HILL (3.8/9) both ranked among the top 10 shows on broadcast television last week among women 18-34.

Monday, Sept. 29

The CW's sophomore sensation GOSSIP GIRL climbed to its second best ratings ever among women 18-34 (4.1/11), adults 18-34 (2.6/8), women 18-49 (2.8/7) and adults 18-49 (1.8/5).

With GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL building week-to-week, The CW matched its best Monday ever in adults 18-34 (2.6/7), adults 18-49 (1.9/5) and women 18-49 (2.8/7) and delivered its second best Monday ever in women 18-34 (3.9/10). The CW improved week-to-week by 8% in women 18-34 (3.9/10), 13% in adults 18-34 (2.6/7), 19% in adults 18-49 (1.9/5), 17% in women 18-49 (2.8/7) and 5% in total viewers (3.4mil).

The CW once again ranked as Monday's #1 network with the target demographics of women 18-34 (3.9/10) and females 12-34 (3.5/10).

GOSSIP GIRL ranked second in the hour in women 18-34 (4.1/11), persons 12-34 (2.3/7-tie) and females 12-34 (3.6/10). GOSSIP GIRL also beat NBC's "Chuck" and Fox's "Terminator" in adults 18-34 (2.6/8) and women 18-49 (2.8/7). GOSSIP GIRL grew from last week by 5% in women 18-34, 8% in adults 18-34, 13% in adults 18-49 and 8% in women 18-49.

ONE TREE HILL scored its best ratings in nearly 2 years among women 18-34 (3.8/9), and matched its best ratings ever on The CW in adults 18-34 (2.7/7) and adults 18-49 (1.9/4). ONE TREE HILL gained over last week by 15% in women 18-34, 23% in adults 18-34, 27% in adults 18-49, 17% in women 18-49 (2.7/6) and 9% in viewers (3.4mil).

Tuesday, Sept. 30

The CW's 90210 gained momentum with solid week-to-week growth in all key categories, improving over last week's telecast by 15% in adults 18-34 (2.3/7), 14% in women 18-34 (3.2/9), 13% in adults 18-49 (1.7/5), 10% in women 18-49 and 11% in viewers (3.2mil).

Against all original competition, 90210 ranked second in 8:00-9:00p.m. hour in the target demos of adults 18-34, persons 12-34 (2.0/7) and women 12-34 (2.8/8).

In its fourth telecast, PRIVILEGED held steady, retaining 100% of its week ago performance in adults 18-34 (1.2/4), and building week-to-week by 4% in total viewers and 13% in adults 18-49.

Wednesday, Oct. 1

Against heavy competition, AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL won the hour among the target demographic of women 18-34 (3.1/9) and females 12-34 (3.1/10), and ranked second in adults 18-34 (2.1/7-tie), persons 12-34 (2.0/7) and women 18-49 (2.8/8-tie). The CW ranked second from 8-10p.m. with women 18-34 (2.4/7) and females 12-34 (2.4/7).
