Success Powered by Smash Hit 'Army Wives,' Lifetime Original Movies and New Comedy Series 'Rita Rocks'
Lifetime Movie Network Will Finish as #2 Women's Channel for Sixth Straight Year in Prime and Total Day
Two Leading Women's Nets Up Double-Digits in Fourth Quarter
Lifetime Digital Up 83 Percent in Monthly Unique Visitors
NEW YORK, Dec. 9 -- Lifetime Television is poised to finish 2008 as the #1 basic cable network among W25-54 in total day for the third consecutive year, sparked by cable's top drama among W18-49 ("Army Wives"), the year's four most-watched original movies among W18+ and W25-54 ("The MemoryKeeper's Daughter," "Coco Chanel,""The Two Mr. Kissels," "Flirting with Forty"), and the network's first primetime comedy series in a decade ("Rita Rocks").
Not to be outdone, sibling Lifetime Movie Network -- for the sixth straight year -- will be the #2 women's channel (behind Lifetime) in both prime and total day among total viewers, households, W18-49 and W25-54. In 2008, LMN premiered the two highest-rated movies in its 10-year history, "The Capture of the Green River Killer" and "Little Girl Lost: The Delimar VeraStory."
2008 also marked another outstanding year for Lifetime Digital, which posted 83 percent growth in average monthly page views, 27 percent in average monthly visits and 15 percent in average monthly unique visitors. In addition, Lifetime Digital acquired leading community technology and games companies -- ParentsClick (MothersClick.com) and Roiworld, which established Lifetime Game Studios Korea. These acquisitions and the continued growth of myLifetime.com and DressUpChallenge.com make Lifetime Digital well positioned for another successful year in 2009.
Both Lifetime and LMN are ending the year with a bang. In Fourth Quarter prime, Lifetime's W18-34 ratings have risen 17 percent, keyed by the Lifetime Original Movies "The Two Mr. Kissels" (4.2 million viewers) and "Flirting with Forty" (4.0 million viewers).
Powered by its 24/7 movie schedule, Lifetime Movie Network's ratings are up a whopping 50 percent among W18-34 and 33 percent among W18-49.
